Radar would have you believe that it is pissing down here in Wulguru too but it ain't. Weather radar is an imprecise science.

I'm an old radar tech [both me and the radar] and I assure you it is much easier to find a solid object than the density of rain. Besides, BOM radar is a min. of 14 min out of date.

for HEAVY RAINFALL
For people in parts of the
Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast District.
Issued at 11:54 am Saturday, 18 March 2017.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Townsville.
77mm was recorded in 1 hour to 11:50am at Mt Bohle.

only had about 10mm in kirwan so far. only a few minutes of heavy rain, otherwise just been moderate.
