I did get rain. So heavy though I couldn't even hear it on the tin roof. Felt all 3 drops of it when I walked to the shed.

The kids who are camping will be happy.

Finished mowing the lawn earlier 1hr 30mins in total for front and back it was very thick and lush after that rain. Normally takes about just over an hour.

Decided to mulch mow as it was quicker .

Shirt was drenched in sweat .Glad I waited till 4pm to mow.

Sitting on 154 mm for the month after just 4mm in February. It's amazing how lawns that look like the surface of Mars can green up within hours overnight.

It's also much better for your lawn. Every time you empty a catcher you steal the nutrients that are stored in the tips of the grass. I never use a catcher.

What grass I have is green. The whole place looks green in fact.

But it is an illusion really. There is so much bare areas in it as it is dead and gone. Only more water will get it right again but now the dams have water I will be able to water the back yard at least and have grass cover again. Bit of fertiliser won't hurt it either.

After this weekend my gardens in the back yard will need a bit of attention as I have the daughters dog and pup here. They are just loving the gardens.

Is it just me or is the BOM not sure what is going on with rainfall in their forecasts lately? One minute the forecast says shower or two the the rainfall totals change quite a bit . Percentage chance drops a lot etc. Shower or two becomes showers etc.

I normally mulch mow but i get told to "mow it with the catcher " as she don't want clippings everywhere .Watering the lawn fixes that.

A lot of people here catch the clippings and then put them around trees but really thick and they never break down .Clippings are full of nutrients and water. When I first came here I fertlised in summer and was mowing the lawn every 4 days , now with no fertiliser and mulching i mow every 14 days sometimes 7.

Thunder rumbling a bit here and stinkin' humid.Hope it doesn't rain just yet. 6mm last night 5mm the last 10.5 the day before and 48 before that so about 69.5mm so far this month. Little bit behind Yeppoon.

Got woken up around 4am by that 6mm. It was heavy and quick.

Radar shows rain to the west and south but we're in the area where it is just cloudy and no rain.

Just got the lawn mowed in time. Very unstable air out there today, nice storm just popped up north of Rocky.

I got 6ml at some stage. Found it in the gauge this morning and tipped it out.

Might have been last night as the chooks water didn't need much topping up this morning.

It got cloudy late this morning and started showering on and off and is quite constant now.

Temp was 30 deg feels like 32 at 10am ( was pretty revolting and not much breeze) and now is 23 deg feels like 27 (warm but not as bad)

Pretty sure today's forecast never said 30mm.

Says 60 percent chance but do I assume it will rain if it is over 50 percent as it was 80 percent last week or before and we got nothing.

Vinnie, let's just go with it may or may not rain. BoM are alright with forecasting conditions (sunny, mostly sunny, possible shower etc. I hardly follow percentages and forecasted rain. It's computer generated so. I'll watch the radar or the sky and take it as it comes. I've stopped relying on those percentages for ages now...

Nice heavy shower that's blown in from the coast, absolutely poured here in Allenstown.

A few spits by the beach and that was about it here. Just cloudy.

The sky has that sort of look to it when heavy rain is imminent.

GFS is going for 90mm here tomorrow. Models seem to range from 20-90 mm.

Temp is still quite warm despite the cloud .

It is raining. Good heavy shower lasted maybe 2 mins. Radar is promising.

Be so nice to get some follow up after our lucky deluge. My citrus trees are now half alive.

Well Vinnie, I am quite happy. It is raining rather hard now. My gutters can't keep up with it which is a tad concerning as they are all new. Perhaps hubby should have put up deeper and wider ones to cope better? But the tanks are finally full. They didn't quite make it the other night with all that rain but it came so hard and fast no gutter could keep up.

Son might not be so happy as I did the mean mum act today and left his washing, which was dry yesterday when he came home from camping, on the line so now it is soaking wet. That is what happens when you ignore your mothers advice to bring it in.

Same here a bit of flooding on the side yard even though it is just beach sand. Disappears quickly usually.

Tank is full here too, is currently overflowing.
