That's it RF, only 5mm! I looked at the radar and there was a red blob near the G. I thought you would have received a lot more than that. That piddly little cell over Cairns gave me 5.1mm

Staying in Babinda (Mirriwinni) area for few weeks. It's been bucketing down here since 1pm with occasional thunder over the mountains. Storms seem almost stationary. Total 70mm in gauge since 1pm with no sign stopping yet.

This is the 11th year in a row, (maybe 10th) that Mirriwinni has beaten Tully in rainfall for the year.

They need to put that Golden Gumboot on a low loader and take it up to Mirriwinni !
Tully is trying to make a quid with the title 'the wettest' when they are not.

I'm not sure a cow paddock qualifies as an actual Town though Bob..lol..

Hickory do you have a link for those figures..?..I'd be rather happy if Tully has started to become a bit dryer..

Its absolutely smashing down here at the moment..just got to see the thrilling finish in the Cowboys game and now Foxtel is gone...

1. I do Scott. Somewhere in the bookmarks. I'll try and find it.
2. Re the footy, don't bother. ATM it's a shame not a game. Titans getting flogged.

Haven't had a single drop here tonight.
On the radar, it never even looked like happening.

Raining lightly here this morning. Currently 12.4mm in the gauge with 12mm being from yesterday. 6mm came from the shower I had when the radar showed nothing over me.
Looks like some storms during the week and some heavier falls by the weekend. Lets hope something can spin up with the next burst of Monsoonal activity.

71mm this morning , pushing us along towards 2m very nicely , as almost the end of may last year.
Yeah simmo this next monsoon burst will probably be the last , just hope the MJO signal stays reasonably strong as it continues into our region.

some inland areas still need goo falls before winter while there is still some soil warmth to grow some cover.

Cheers
.

only 5.6mm here. Threatening skies yesterday were just a tease. Light southern type rain here now. Not sure if we will see any more of those wonderful NW winds this year.

Not much more here RF, 8.8mm for me. Another boring, uneventful wet season again by the looks of it. At least we are lucky enough to make average in some of our areas, not like other regions.

Nice falls around Point Fawcett on the Tiwis, 384mm so far

Certainly far better than last year HF, where my first 3 months were just under 500mm, and still most of this month to go. Yeah that Point Fawcett, amazing total. Townsville currently have a wet signal for Thursday, but I bet that changes for the poor buggers..

Nothing fell before 2.30am,but woke to a nice steady drizzle at 5am, which ultimately gave us 5mm.

Black skies around us this evening, but slipped to the north.
