my bombers year came to a sudden halt against a rampant Sydney today. Still couldnt be more proud of the team going from 18th to 8th this year. i expected us to finish tenth and we did better than that. while disappointed with todays result we didnt compete and were totally outplayed, i hang up the scarf knowing the club is heading in the right direction.

Bombers didn't have it even remotely yesterday, in their defence no other team in the AFL would want to take the the Swans on IMO.
Brilliant display by the Swans, in my mind the team to beat.

Port got robbed into extra time last night.
Doesn't get much closer than a game decided by a kick after the siren at the end of extra time.

All in all the Eagles' first and second quarters really positioned them nicely although Port played very well during the second half.

as a fan who watched his team go down by 1 point in prelim finals in '96 and '99, i can understand that pain of a loss. it hurts! even moreso when its a prelim lol
i prefer to get flogged by a team like essendon did on saturday rather than a one point loss. its easier to take that you just werent good enough to proceed than to know that you got so so close. you look at all those 50/50s that little moments you think wont amount to much and you think 'if only'. the joy of sport.

Totally agree Mick ,pretty frustrating to lose a game with a free kick on the siren.
Cannot say that Port didn't have their chances in front of goal ,some really bad misses .

They led to their own demise unfortunately . Port definitely looked shattered though.

Good on the Eagles though ,hopefully put up another good fight against the Giants.

Woohoo the Swans are gone! I didn't expect that but then the cats were embarrassed last week and didn't want to go out in straight sets. Best scenario from here would be a Crows v Tigers GF smile

Yes good to see the Cats win. Swans seemed to be off their game after the Cats went to work on them in the first half. Good coaching by Chris Scott to put Dangerfield into the forward line.

Dangerfield fired, Buddy was tired !

Thought Swans would be super competitive, never really
met the Cats at any stage.

Cats just looked to strong and didn't kick to opposition
like Swans did on occasions.(Buddy)

On recent finals form the teams that obliterate one week are having a fail the next, come on RICHMOND...........best of luck !

Doubling scores in finals, got me beat how these walk overs are happening, thought they should be much more competitive games.

Well its D day for the Crows and the Tigers. All or nothing! There seems to be a swing away from the Crows for favouritism. I've noticed a lot in the media in particular now embracing the Richmond juggernaut. Theres a swirly wind to contend with which might play havoc with the Crows precision game. Lets just hope its a close one with a nail biting finish. I don't care who wins so long as its ADELAIDE. CARN the CROWS!

Most on the commentary team on 7 think the Crows will get over the line.

Tigers too good for the Crows in the GF.
Good to see them win after so many years of final flops.

All happening in Tigerland.....

Ah well, if we had to lose to anyone I'd prefer that to be Richmond. Shame it wasn't closer. Adelaide started alright but as the game progressed they wilted under pressure, began to doubt themselves and in the end never looked like it. Don't think I'll be watching the highlight reel. There weren't any frown

congrats to the tigers, what a great effort yesterday. dominated the game after the first qtr. Crows are my second favourite team and wanted them to win but cant take anything away from Richmonds performance this year, esp after such a bad year last year. Alot of respect for Damian Hardwick as a player and as a coach.

Pretty disappointing final series really, not many interesting games at all.

Certainly not disappointed in the final result though, crows got it handed to them comprehensively. It's amazing how quiet the local media is about the loss after weeks of talking them up lol

Richmond hit overdrive and fixed up the inter-staters, kept waiting for a come back from the crows but they didn't have it on the day.

WELL DONE TIGERS!!

Well, looks like you got your wish!!

I seem to remember reading somewhere at the beginning of the season (the sports section in the Advertiser I think) that Richmond were predicted to finish 9th.

I didn't really know what was happening in the finals series as I was on the other side of the planet and didn't access the internet much.

First I knew Richmond were going places was when my boss texted me that they had made the GF. Next text was that they had won, although it was delayed by 24hrs after the GF game smile (my boss is a Crows supporter).

BUT, as a long suffering & frustrated Tigers supporter, I'm really happy they finally got their act together and won the big one!

Now if only Glenelg can get their act together in the SANFL....
