Home got slammed, while we were out at Truro Outlook, wasn't there when we left so rapid developed over the period.

Core sat directly over the top and got 16.6mm out of it with a peak rain rate of 198.6mm/hr. 60km/h max gust under it also.

12.6mm in 10 minutes

Yeah! I drove out on to Churchill Rd heading north in Kilburn at about 16:45 and was somewhat tempted to grab the camera (aka mobile) ... I had a very circular base with apparent bigger stuff hidden behind.

Nice shot smile

I had heard about the fire yesterday, didn't think it would put out anywhere near that amount of heat, so didn't bother looking until I got SMS from friends.

Managed to get a time-lapse of it anviling I'll post later.

hrmm not sure what you are meaning re. fire?
There was a big fire in the morning down at a wreckers at Wingfield, but that certainly has nothing to do with the storm in the Barossa!!

So I got up to the Barossa area just as the Cu was starting to get a bit of height, positioned myself just off the Sturt Hwy to monitor the situation. Sure enough EC was spot on with predicting the precip bullseye on the Barossa region.
Had a good view of the beginnings of the storm, right through to the end.
You can check out my photos on here..

lol

I heard about the fire - then people texted me about the cloud.

I somehow joined those together, and even told someone matter of factually that it was a Pyrocumulonimbus.

Need to remember to check on reality before formulating my own theories with random bits of info. I think it's time to stay sober for a few months...a mate keeps giving me medicinal beer to test.

No cure - just helps relieve symptoms apparently.
He's convinced it's the future.

It shouldn't be so psychoactive that it has me ranting about Pyrocumulonimbus to anyone who'll listen smile - although it is fun to say.
