Would be awesome out your way - I'd be eyeing that black core on the way to Gulgong grin

Yeah, but they're moving quite slowly and just missing us to the West. Looks like Gulgong is copping it though. As they get closer to us, they're running into a screaming Sou Easter, and I'd say that's what's killing them. Be interesting to see if something makes it here though.

Good to see some rain where it's wanted and needed. Dubbo has done well, with 60mm since 8:00AM.

In Sydney its sunny and getting a bit breezy (Easterly) after a mostly cloudy morning. There are some towers and development visible about the horizon to the W, N and S.

Are you still hearing constant thunder from it?

Btw quite a nice line of storms stretching right down the south coast. Some stuff is trying to build around here as well. Certainly humid enough with 26C/21DP even on the extreme coast.

PS: Sat pic looks very nice atm.

Not as much now mate, but there's now a huge line of big storms from near Lightning Ridge down to about Warren, and they look to be headed this way as well. They look like beasts, so we'll see what happens.

Golf ball sized hail reported in Dubbo, particularly the east side according to a WZ article. Green Fields?

Yeah Max those new cells are exploding pretty quickly.

Nice little crack of the beach at Port Kembla - seems to be struggling to gain momentum ATM.

Yeah I can hear a bit of thunder here. We unfortunately don't have a great view to the east.

Thunder in the CBD. Cells coming off the ocean. Weird

Dark here but I reckon it unlikely that we will see any "exciting" action out of it. I won't mind if we get some "rain" out of it though smile

Getting a bit dark here. There were some interesting cloudscapes to the East an hour ago, although these are now obscured by low cloud that has drifted in from the NE.

Dubbo now up to 51 mm since 9:00, following 21 mm between 8:00 and 9:00.

EDIT: cells near Sydney seem to be evaporating. The cell that passed South of the CBD turned briefly red as it passed through the inner Western suburbs. Looks to be a big red cell near The Entrance, heading towards Gosford.

Nada nil nothing in the Northern Illawarra at the moment.
Though I do worry with inbound storms from the ocean.
They can sit and soak and flood around these parts.

DaveM, I think you will get collected by something substantial sometime this evening. See how it goes.

I can see a billowing updraught from here from the storm moving in over Gosford. Nice little add on to my watagan mountain backdrop. It has pushed up pretty quick and looks to be flattening out with a bit of an anvil . Sydney/illawarra coastal stretch could do pretty well in the next few hours.

Looks like our best chances around here are early tomorrow morning and though the day. really looking for a stalled cell to drop 3+ inches in quick time. these sort of setups definately put that on offer....just have to be in the right convergence area.

There's a storm cell approaching Gosford, and I've heard a few serious thunder claps. It looks like we wont be getting much of a warning with storms cells forming over our heads.

You're right there. Fairly intense looking cells have just popped into existence in the lower Blue Mountains (EDIT: seem to be moving SSW).
