Ants have been on the move for months and yet nothing's happened. They tend to get very busy here when it gets hot.

Ants moving is an indication of a system that should produce good rains. They can feel the change in the air however just because the atmosphere is perfect for rain doesnt mean it will happen. Ants only sense the change that should bring the rain. The ants have been right all season just they cant predict if the rains will fall in there area. They just sense the change and prepare. So far this years wet season has been awesome for my area. Just over average in jan and on track for maybe close to average feb depending on the coming systems. So the fact the ants are on the move is indication of a change, just may not rain as much in tsv but the atmosphere would feel similar in tsv as it would here when its hammering down and vis versa. Or tyen again it could be trumps fault. wink

We've had busy ants in the past, but not much rain. This time, they were building multiple entry/exits close together. Never seen them do that before. Even the mock orange (murraya) was in full bloom, and I've never seen that before either - and we had 18 consecutive days of rain.

Our mock orange is covered in blooms and our dove orchids have flowered like crazy in the last few days. Don't have many ants around at all. Haven't seen a green ant in my garden for ages. Does anyone know what has happened to the green ants in Townsville? The one thing that I have in my garden horribly are masses of cane toadlets. Never seen anything like that in the 13 years I've lived in West End. Yuck .......

Well a lot of the models are saying the GoC will happen, but no agreement to where it will go yet. *sigh* The waiting game is the worst.

I like the latest run. Biblical rain for the NTC from something like that. I bet the next one sends it west again though
