Yeah enjoy ,
http://www.bom.gov.au/fwo/IDY10008.20170315.png

Also include Thursday now as well another 28c.
Dry as hell around now and will be very lucky to not get bush fires taking hold next week.

The next six nights from tomorrow night onwards are way above March average temps.

15,15,15,15,17,19

High daytime temps as well.

At least there is supposed to be some showers about over the weekend.
Not holding my breath for anything substantial though.

Well another warm week done and dusted! grin

18 days and not one drop of rain out here, cold on wednesday morning got down to a chilly 3.1 C, a bit of dew about, however not enough to show in the gauge.

Hey MH2O you're quite right about how dry it is! The soil dryness index for the city is 124mm, out at Brighton it's about 155mm, Melton Mowbray up the road is 159mm, compared to Mt Read which is at 24.8mm, it's fair to say it's a little dry about the SE.

Not wrong about those warm nights ahead WL, might even beat the current record of overnight temps for March?

Would be good to see something rain wise this weekend, but like everyones saying im not expecting miracles either.. frown

Current Obs: 26.9 C, 1013.1hPa, light ESE.

Very strong Seabreeze has just blown in at home, which would not be helping the TFS trying to fight a fire out at Colebrook, 7 vehicles and 3 helicopters in attendance!

Reached a warm 27.9 C here today, no sign of rain.. frown

Current Obs: 24.3 C, 1012.6hPa, SSE 24 km/h- gusts 49 km/h.

Fires!!! Not good.

Maybe a little more humidity in the seabreeze can help a bit?

Maybe you will have a warm Autumn to make up for a reasonably pleasant or coolish summer.

Got a couple of 30's coming up again here too, so I here ya when you talk annoying heat smile

Those dryness index's pretty crook there BB.

Could see up to 35 degrees Wednesday according to access.
Bush fires a real chance from Wednesday next week with the hotter temps and wind.
Even the Huon Valley is bone dry now.

If any of these outlooks come even close we are in for one hell of an extreme March 2017. Things are lining up and other weather forums are starting to talk about the next run of heat starting next Saturday lasting at least another week with very high temps. If that happens it will almost take us to the 25th of March . blush

3 mm and rained and drizzled all night , still overcast with light drizzle now here in LV @ 13.25 .
Well what can you say , the forecast from Tues to next Sunday is very much above average with only Friday possibly 24 c which is still over (+ 4) but way cooler than what's on the outlook.

Sunday peaked at just over 20 c at 4:30 pm and the drizzle has gone and sun is out.
Just got the latest 7 day outlook for Hobart , glad I was sitting down smile Sat 28 c and Sunday 31 c sick
What a hell of a week coming up , there will surely be some grumpy pumpkins around by the end of the next 7 days.

Re : my post 10/3 some of those outlooks have now backed off , maybe there some light at the end of the tunnel ?

Wowzers, a good amount there SF!

We had 0.4mm till 9am Saturday, 3.0mm till 9am today and a slight bit of mist/drizzle until about 9.30am, will check tomorrow morning if we got anything but nothing registered after 9am this morning in the automatic gauge..

As has been mentioned looking very warm to locally hot about the place! Thursdays going to be intresting with that approaching front, the Northlies look like theyll get going with mean speeds around 40 km/h for a period in the day which will push the FFDI's up, will have to wait and see if they put a TFB out.

Hey MH2O, i reckon i'll be one of the grumpy pumpkins, my work utes got no A/C.. cry Can only hope i'm working on a cool room! grin

Been a very overcast day, however the sun did pop out during the arvo for a bit, also there was a decent amount of convection about but no storms eventuated unfortunately. frown

Looking forward to Wednesday and Thursday! Finally something intresting weather wise instead of lots of high pressure systems around! grin

Current Obs: 13.8 C, 1008.9hPa, light ESE.

Thankfully the forecast of extreme heat seems to have backed off for you guys - still more than warm enough though.

We had 32 yesterday and after a week or more of days in the mid 20's, it was not welcome.

Good to read of some precip down there.

BB - WD40 A/c - windows down & 40 miles per hour - a very old one that one smile

Hobart dodged the 31 degree forecast today - max actually 27 officially. Another warm one forecast tomorrow at around 30/31.

BUT - how about tonight 19!!!! That's very ordinary. eek

Anything over 15 is rubbish in my books.

I thought that too Dave, just looked at the obs and it seems like the Northerly finally blew into the city about 4.30, pushing all the heat from the Midlands down south sending the temp up to 32.1 C, we managed to reach 32.9 C at home.

More warm days and nights to come, btw Dave the windows down and 40mph in the ute tricks working a treat! haha grin

Current Obs: 31.6 C, 30% Humidity, 1016.4hPa, Northerly 27 km/h, gusting 47 km/h. smile

Was surprised by that as according to BOM it reach 31.8 degrees around 5pm.
Currently 29.4 degrees.

Great time for the heatpump/ac to go on the fritz.

Evening all , well topped out just over 32 c in Hobart late this afternoon. Still a putrid 27 c out there now , I think overnight max might be nudged 21.1 c in 1906. Have two air cons pumping out the cool air and ceiling fans on full bore .
The Moon is very eerie tonight , a yellow orange ball peering out from behind a venetian blind effect of grey black clouds.
If this keeps up we will start to see crocs in the Derwent smile

It's been so hot here the motherboard in my laptop has melted! Maybe that's stretching the truth a bit. 😁
I can't blame the weather, laptop had a good life.
Guess I'll have to deal with squinting so I can post from my mobile.

Managed 28.5 yesterday with a minimum overnight of 17.5

Sneaky weather - coming in with late hot NW'ers. Most of this Summer we had our official max posted as the 3pm temp but it continued to warm until just before dark. Usually this time of year that effect is not often prominent.

Looks like an official min in Hobart around that 19 degree mark - not much fun.

Sadly we were only about 2 degrees better - and that was too warm for me, so I sympathise greatly smile

It still amazes me how warm some Hobart nights can be (the really warm ones).

P - no good re the lappie - better get a $700 special from Harveys or someone smile

32 Hobart today then a brief respite for a couple of days before 30 again on Sunday. Bit of a late burst of heat there.

Howdy all,

This little heat burst has brought the hottest pair of March days for Hobart since 2013 where the two day average was 32.7 (max temps in 2013 were 36+ and 28+). More surprisingly it's only the 2nd time since 1990 where consec March days have passed 30 and the first since 2003. The two day average is likely to stand as the 7th hottest consec March days overall - including all data back to 1882.

1967 had a March 3 day run with all days over 30.

Dec 1994 has 1 of just 2, 4 day runs with temps over 30.

March 1891 stands out with a 3 day run early in the month and a 2 day run late in the month. But there might be some doubt as to whether the equipment was entirely standardised as it is today.

Sucks when the weather does that to you DM... poke 99% of the time you'd have been right with that call.
