Yes indeedy!!! grin

A hot one for down there again tonight, around 20 or 21 for Hobart - ATROCIOUS for March or anytime actually. That's a Sydney overnight temp in summer.

At least tomorrow night will be MUCH better at about 10 degrees smile

Hi all,

A lot more overcast and a bit more humid today, clouds were looking interesting this morning towards the Northwest, humidity sat around 40% today but did dip down to 30%, compared to yesterday where it hovered around the mid twenties.

Substantially cooler out here last night compared to the city, got down to 13.6C just before 7am, max today of 31.4C, warm down your way last night Stale fish! Grove got down to just 20.4! crazy what did it managed to get down to at yours? smile

Not ideal regarding the ac Winterlover, been busy at work with calls for drains blocked and indoor units leaking water due to the higher than normal humidity, at least tomorrow won't be so bad heat wise. smile

Hey MH2O, the days of crocs in the Derwent doesn't seem far away at all! soon enough will see palm trees in Salamanca! grin

Good read there Snowies about the March temp, have noticed the past couple months that maximums have generally occurred more mid to late arvo rather than just after lunch.

Looking forward to the possibility of some good storms with the crossing of the front tomorrow, will have to wait and see. smile

Current Obs: 29.4 C, 41% Humidity, 1010.3hPa, NNW 23 km/h, gusting 37 km/h (max of 50 km/h).

Evening all,
28.9 degrees Tuesday
30.6 degrees Wednesday. Hottest temp here since the last summer 15/16.

Think we may see a Severe Thunderstorm warning tomorrow.
Temp now 22.2 degrees
Cheers Dave

Came down hard briefly, heard some thunder over Launceston. 5-10mm out of it. Looks to be clearing to the east, not sure there'll be much developing in behind the front.

Late evening all,
Officially 2.4 mm precip but a bit over a 1 mm here in the Northern Suburbs. Also once that sun came out it had some bite and a touch over 25 c , still a humid 17 c out there now.
And yes Sf no storm , actually the announcer on the radio was playing it up saying if any listeners had seen the mysterious missing storm in their area to call in. So we all had a laugh at the BOM's expense I think smile
Strike me down if I'm wrong but I don't see tomorrow being 20 c as forecast , surely as today has proven the heat is still very much alive . Saturday 25 c peaking at 30 c Sunday and back to 26 c Mon will take us very close to no going back under the record mark .

The sun certainly has sting in it - very obvious if standing out in it. Without cloud or cool winds, it can still quickly feel quite hot - as you guys understand very well smile

I love the "missing storm" bit smile

Hi all ,
Hobart Sat 27 c and today another baking 31.7 c , just nothing but sun and heat once gain. The air is so still out there for hours on end today it wouldn't flicker a candle flame.
Averages both blown well and truly baked away again now sitting on + 2.8 c and + 3.5 c for the month and of course , early 1 c over the previous daytime top. Of course those may drop a bit if the week holds true. Some showers predicted mid week but hey I'm not holding my breath as it will probably be the usual nothing by the time the days roll around. Wouldn't mind betting we will see more of the same for April smile
Well I'm off to have a cold shower love from well and truly baked , toasted and fried " Grumpy Pumpkin " !

I agree MH20.
Kids were playing outside but the sun was so unrelenting.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a run of clear 25c degree days in April.

Two weeks until the end of daylight savings.
So maybe some cooler nights on the cards at least.

That heat would be bringing back old memories H2O? At least the humidity isn't the same.

Had a mate down there last week and he said it looks a bit crispy down in old Hobart Town.

My move is taking longer than I want but such is life. I don't think Tassie is going anywhere soon.

Hope you lot get some better weather soon.

Currently long term GFS has a solid cold front on the 30th/31st March that it believes will push well over Tassie and up to the Snowies in NSW. Currently shown as a solid cold air field, not a cut off low.

Still 10 days out so it could stay in the models or even disappear all together. But right now it looks nice on the models smile

I believe that for us in NSW it will finally be a proper step down in temps for the season. We may finally have an end to temps always in the mid to high 20's and even 30.

Evening all,
Yes Slippery fond memories indeed , I was up in Cairns October last year and the weather was glorious , and reckon the beer is always colder up there . I do miss the place sometimes and wish I had enough funds to get back at least once a year.
Well guys what a pleasant day indeed here in Hobart , a light morning shower with overcast skies. The best afternoon run I've had in weeks , just amazing what some cool air can do for the old body.
Hey Dave , welcome the update as our attention turns to the nice season . Fingers crossed and toes too !

Yes MH - I keep a watch out, looking for potential stuff, doesn't always come off as it first looks but also often it can.

Looking out 10 days or more is always a lottery BUT it tends to at least provide a rough idea of which way the weather is trending. smile

Temps look nicer down there today at least. smile

Evening all,
3mm of drizzle to 9am.
8.4mm since 9am. Heavy drizzle and thick fog.

Looks like 30mm by the end of it I think!

Doesn't look to be warming up much today.
Been hovering around 13-14 degrees all day.
Bit warmer at Hobart airport (15 degrees)

Little temp differential from the overnight min of 12.4 degrees

Gidday all , temp really did back of today 16 c top . Just incredible how mother nature can swing things around on the Island . Maybe a bit warmer spike again next Monday or there about but may have some good rain to accompany it ?
I was tempted to put the heat pump on today , then I thought I'd gone soft and decided against it smile
