Thanks Brad, it has been a darn long time coming. Water carters have been doing a roaring trade. If it wasn't for having 3 big tanks and only owning very water efficient washing machine, re-using all our water in one way or another, composting toilet we too would have been buying. The son wasn't too impressed with me when I would go and turn the water pump off if he was in the shower too long. grin

I can not remember the last time I had all the tanks full. It has to be more than 2 years since the dams filled although I still have 2 to go out of 4. They aren't even huge dams just big enough to service the water needs of a few horses and what everyone else uses town water for (gardens, car washing).

If we had not got lucky with that storm the other night we would still be paddling up poo creek. For once we got more than the surrounding area.

I am glad your father in law got some useful rain today. Hopefully now our drought has 'broken' we will get more which is still needed.

What is interesting is the forecasts seem to be saying bugger all rain will go inland. Most will fall off shore into the Pacific.

A wee bit of rain heading towards us off the sea. It should be a fairly wet night it seems. So far since midnight I've recorded 27.7mm, 4mm since this rain moved over just now

Wow so how good is this? 30.4 mm so far today and 142.8mm in the last 5 days. Just got to mow the lawn this morning before it started raining. Very strong area of convergence taking shape. No doubt will see some very healthy totals tomorrow. How are ur dams now BundyBear, hopefully a bit full?

I have had nothing tonight. Did score 18ml earlier today. The horse dam sitting at the top of the overflow ready to go, the pot hole down the front paddock is over, the house dam still has 3 foot to go and the back dam will still be half empty. But all 3 tanks are full. grin

If it will move just that little further south I might get real lucky. I won't stress if it doesn't as I am in the best place water wise that I have been for a couple of years.

Yep, looks like a very soggy night for a lot of people.

I did restock last week on the things in the pantry I had been using up having given up on a wet season. I prefer to be ready, just in case.

I hope the media don't get hold of the cyclone in a weeks time.

Cyclone ! ?

Wow so our wet season began mid March ?

Amazing how we can be stuck in a pattern of relative dryness for so long and then it is like the tap turns on.

This rain is good because it is slow and steady here not pouring so hard it floods if that makes sense.

Some good falls about, mostly coastal.

We here never seen to do as well when it comes from the north.

22mm here. But falls of around 110mm around the Calliope area.

76ml since 9am yday but hearing bigger localised falls from calliope and benareby. Doesn't look like the coastal trough is moving much and expected to intensify today.

12ml over night. Differing totals all around the area again. Just to the north a few K's they had roughly 50ml.

I am loving the cooler day today.

Vinnie, there is a model or 2 showing the possibility. Probably not a high possibility.

Don't you read the cyclone forum here? Lots of information in there from people who are way way smarter than me. smile

Go check the page for it. I don't think I can copy and paste it from that forum to here. Next week, the 27th if I remember rightly.
