It wasn't particularly damaging, I think it flattened a Burns Philp warehouse on Flinders St, West, a block still vacant, but not much else.

I remember it because the eye passed directly over our house and us kids were out in the street playing in the wind. An eerie feeling I still remember.

Does anyone know what it was called?

Agnes in March 1956? (Cyclones weren't routinely named in the 1950s, but Agnes was one exception).
