MH - gotta resist that urge to give in to the cold grin

Actually the first time a fire or good heater goes on is usually a time to make everything feel nice n cosy. Later in the season you wouldn't even bother heating at the same temp grin

Couple of warm days coming up on Monday Tuesday (same days as us but you will be slightly cooler).

Make the most of those 2 mid 20's days - I reckon they are quite likely your last pair like that until next Spring/Summer.

After the next change late next week - I think you will struggle to get much past 20 or 21 degrees during the days.

I reckon late next week is a seasonal step down - certainly for up here, we have a 30 forecast next week, really looking forward to getting down more in the low 20's after next week too. smile

Nice to see some precip in the SE yesterday etc.

SF - was the fire for the customers or you - big sook!!!! evillaugh

Its going to end up being the 3rd warmest March in Hobart according to my calculator ( mean temperature=min+max combined ). Warmer Marchs were 2010 and 2013 ( warmest ).

Hi all , pretty warm and a completely cloudless skies once again for Hobart today around 23 c out here in the Nth Suburbs.
Well here we go again 28 c now for tomorrow , not looking forward to another day at work sweating to death in the long king gees camped down in a tin shed. I did notice that Tues and Wed temps have also been forecast up now.
Hopefully ? we will see some cool 17 c days after that ?
Big news is for FNQ , the first decent system for a couple of years , saw it was 35 c in Cairns today so plenty of heat up there to keep the cyclone primed and moist !

Yeah looking a bit cooler for the rest of the week hey MH2O, seems like this front crossing us tomorrow will break the trend of warm/hot sunny days!

Warm one today, reached a top of 24.9C, last Sunday we reached 32.4C which I reckon would have been the last 32+ day for the summer/autumn. smile

Going to be a warm and windy day tomorrow, top of 29C forecast out here with hopefully some decent showers with the crossing of the front, bit of a change compared with the last month of boring weather! grin

Yes full on by the looks of it up in FNQ, hopefully Debbie crosses South of Townsville, would be deadly if the main storm surge was in Townsville, still not good not matter where she crosses.. frown

Current Obs: 14.8 C, Baro 1011.8hPa, light WNW.

YEP - 3rd warmest is a pretty big deal for sure, nice work on investigating that. smile

As I mentioned previously, I'm really thinking that the run of changes starting later this week will be a solid seasonal step down and hopefully the last of the damned warmth. We are wanting the same thing up here. We have 29, 30, 31 the next few days, ridiculous this late in March.

Our nights also running about 4 degrees above average. Days though not as bad with about 1 degree above average.

Like you guys, sick of the never ending Summer.

I am looking forward to next week and the start of more Autumnal temps up here - should be a similar thing for you down there hopefully smile

Was meant to be a 90% chance of showers this arvo.
Looks like it's been revised to a very small chance now.

Showers coming over towards Hobart BUT whether they can drop any real precip on the lee side is the thing!! Good luck.

We did get squall like conditions for half an hour or so.
Not sure how much precip we got out of it but there was strong winds and a shower.

Dropped 5 degrees in 15 minutes.

Well that was one hell of a front!

Recorded a wind gust of 98.7km/h at 2.40pm with a 15 minute period of winds averaging gale force speeds of 68 km/h, wild to say the least with driving rain chucked in as well! 4mm so far, shame i wasnt home to see it, as i was up at Oatlands, still was pretty average up there. grin

Reached a warm top of 28.7C out here, temp dropped from 26.5C at 2.35pm down to 20.1C at 2.40pm, 6.4C drop in 5 minutes measured in a standard Bom Stevenson screen mounted at 1.2mtrs AGL! Baro dipped down to 992.9 hPa.

Still a bit damp out there, with light rain and a gusty WNW. smile

Current Obs: 14.8 C, Baro 1011.8hPa, WNW 37 km/h gusting 63 km/h.

Not wrong there Dave, was very cyclonic for a bit, small amount of damage about..branches/trees down, although not as bad as what FNQ will get.

Forgot to mention that someone.. smirk ..didn't put enough screws in the cover for the fresh air fan on the shed... needless to say what happened lol

Good to have that front cross us as it breaks the trend of boring weather, hopefully a sign of things to come this winter! smile

Btw forgot to edit the baro on my previous post, shot up to 1011.8hPa in no time.. crazy grin

Current Obs: 15.5 C, Baro 999.0hPa, WNW 24 km/h gusting 45 km/h.

Dopey handyman!!! grin

Yes I think you guys are now at your turning point, we have a day or two to go yet.

Summer temps will really be rare after this time. Finally - it's been a VERY long summer up here.

Might settle in to boring Autumnal weather for a while (I hope) grin

Yeah, got a bit breezy just before 3pm yesterday, winds gusting over 70kph. Recorded 10mm of rain. Still the warmest month of the year so far, may just scrape in ahead of Jan after a few cooler days to close out the month. This March is on par with March 2016.

Could see our first frosts in the next week or so, along with some light highland snow Thursday morning.

Definitely past the summer/autumn tipping point, even if conditions remain above average. Hobart has never had a 30 degree day after 4th of April.

Howdy DL - nice photos on FB smile

Interesting that March will be the hotter month - not overly surprised given the number of cold changes that went through there Jan/Feb though. You've had the old Indian Summer smile

The "step down" for us this week will be a solid 5 or so degree step in day to day temps.

I would be shocked to see another 30 here either after tomorrow. Max so far today 29 but will likely hit 30, probably 31 tomorrow. But then we will be 19/20/21 after Thursday. Much nicer.

Our first frosts usually around Anzac Day timeframes.

Hi all , gusty winds today from the West and North West , I would expect that to turn Southerly as this front takes over.
Currently about 24.4 in Hobart and 25.3 in the back yard.
So yesterday and today a bit warmer than predicted , another pretty big High moving across the Bight affecting here by Wed or Thurs. So could be back to some very warmish April days combined with clear cold nights.
