Wow, what a month. The 2017 flood will go down in history as the biggest flood event in the tweed valley since European occupation (Unless 1893 topped it, but I don't think it did). We finished off the month with circa 1002mm, nearly two thirds of the annual average. Between the hours of 2AM 29th and 2AM 30th, we had 611mm of rain. The highest 24hr (albeit from 9AM to 9AM) total on record was 321mm (for murwillumbah).

1000mm in one month!! That is absolutely nuts!

Albion Park had its wettest March on record (since 1999) with 376.6mm with a huge 23 rain days.

Warmest minimum and warmest average minimum at 18.6C, 3.3 above av. Maximums were pretty normal at 25.3, 0.2C above av

The outstanding feature of weather at Manilla, NSW this March was the near-record number of rain days: 17. Only July 1984 had that many, and only June 1950, with 18, had more. The usual number is six.
March rainfall totalled 113 mm, vastly different to February's 4 mm.
March temperatures were normal after February's record highs.
