What chance of showers?

Sydney was bright and sunny yesterday with a bit of cloud mid morning and more around 6PM. At 9.9 hours, it was the 5th sunny day of March at the Airport and, at OH, the 8th rain-free day in 5 weeks.

It's another bright, sunny day again, so far at least, after a pleasantly cool night, 11-15 at most Sydney stations, briefly dropped below 10 at Camden.

EDIT: this is a long weekend, sort of, 49 hours. WR can stay up an hour later tonight.

Yeah Eddy, pretty big night. grin Only just woke up about half an hour ago. shocked

Don't think I'll be intentionally staying up late Steve but I probably won't be able to help it. At least it'll feel like I'm going to bed an hour earlier lol.

The sunset tonight was quite nice, the sky has that classic clear air winter look with very pink sky to the east and also really nice, low orange to pink clouds. Amazed at the transition from summer to autumn (wouldn't quite say winter yet) and it's quite cool again now. It is still sinking in that it's not constantly going to be warm any more.

Earlier today some of those clouds moved over this afternoon and delivered a nice snow shower. None of it settled but this is pretty early for the first snowfall of the season here.

It couldn't be an April Fool joke. They cease at noon. I note that Bellambi got 0.8mm, plus a couple of small totals in Sydney's North. There were some interesting-looking convective clouds to the East around lunch time.

Another bright sunny day in Sydney. It looks like The Rain returns tomorrow for a few days, with about 20-70mm forecast for Sydney Sunday to Wednesday, about 5-25 at Penrith, nothing beyond the coastal plans.

Heard cicadas this morning, but they must be doing their last screeches. Forecast temps for the next week are close to the seasonal average. Autumn has arrived.

Lol yes it was an April fools joke. poke I forgot they finished at noon. smile

Hey Mr Buzle, nice to hear from you again. smile

It was in fact taken at home, but they are big drops of rain being illuminated by sunlight on the 7th March and I took pics because it looked suspiciously like snow. smile

Btw there hasn't been any rain here tonight.

And alas, it was. Hardly a cloud to be seen for the whole match.
I was sitting with the RBB in the eastern concourse and that sun was viciously blinding in the first half until it went behind the roof of the western stand. Great result too for the good guys. smile

Surprisingly, not long after rejoining the M1 on the way home we drove through a very short sharp shower. I wasn't even aware that there were showers about as I hadn't checked the radar and didn't think I needed to after such a sunny evening.
Clearly was the onset of the changing airstream to the south east after a couple of beautiful south westerly days.

A SE wind change warmed it up here last night. This morning it is misty with low cloud and drizzle. Low was 6.7C, currently 8C. 0.4mm as drizzle.

You were sitting with that lot? Gee I must say they are entertainment plus that lot!! I was sitting right behind your coach. On the game, the game was a lot closer than a 3 nil score line suggested!!
Yeah weather wise it was brilliant evening, once home and settled in to watch Liverpool win, it was during the match the wind picked up, cloud rolled in, few drizzle patches and recorded 1.6mm to 9am this morning. Has been dry since, but still overcast and breezy.

Latest forecast has small hail in it for Sydney. Havn't seen that mentioned since last year.

Interesting, we get the small hail mentioned here as well. I wonder why that is a key point in the forecast? We are going for a top of just 18C tomorrow.
