More follow up rain, though once again I can see higher falls than forecast, the SST's still very warm off the coast so plenty of fuel there. Tipping 50-100mm over coastal regions particularly northern beaches with some flash flooding in the morning with the storms.

Amazing totals up north, though can't say I'm surprised as I stuck with my 'record heat = record rain/floods' theory since mid January. Am thinking a switch to drier westerlies in May before another cycle of highs retreating further south for a 'tropical winter' that some of the forecasters are predicting (according to the media about a month ago). Interesting times ahead, will be watching closely.

House sitting on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst. About 45 minutes ago had a heavy shower. Eased back to constant moderate rain now.

Hoping for some boom crash opera over the next 24 hours.

Can't say I recall ever seeing hail from an Easterly type set up. I know it occurs every now and then. Would've thought hail during showers would've been more of a Melbourne type event following a cold front.

I was surprised at the hail forecast as well.
I was even surprised at the chance of thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow that was issued yesterday.
Anyhow, I hope they come to fruition, just to liven things up a bit.

Showers here at present and 15.1 degrees and quite breezy during showers. Very Autumn-esque.

Temps over the southern parts are cool this evening.
Goulburn is already down to 3.7 deg's.

And wow.
The last few frames of the radar have shown up some very heavy showers approaching the northern beaches.

I was reading earlier that there is a cold upper trough moving over the area and that will interact with the warm ocean. And Illawarra stormchasers also believe that there could possibly be hail about rice grain to pea sized. I actually don't quite understand why I haven't ever seen a setup conductive enough to see wintry hail from the SE, in April before. Too much for me to understand.

In other news, GFS is going for a decent cool change on Monday 10th. Still looking like low 20's in this part of the world and wow that will feel nice with dry westerly winds. This time last night, the change showed up with 0-2C 850mb temps over the CT's which seemed too insane for this time of year.

Okay no hail in the forecast for Sydney or Wollongong this morning which I expected. Still, it's a possibility that can't be ignored.

Of interest (well to me at least) grin It may be a pretty cool change next Sunday Monday in elevated areas of the SE.

Possible early temptation to put a heater on for a night or two next week.

Easter MIGHT also have a cool change out this way. It's been a quick turnaround out here. smile

I was interested Dave but the latest run of GFS is showing a more southerly change now which will bring more miserable weather.

I just want sunny weather!!!

Starting to clear up again here and the sun is out. Those showers are fizzing very quickly
