May 2000 I was in Tassie and in heaven!!! My first foray in a subie forester in snow up in Mt Field (just near Mt Mawson) Lake Dobson.

How much fun was that!!!! My Subie was a snow plough across Wombat Moor grin

Best day eva!!!!

Yeah epic snow events are ....epic.
Having flexible work nowadays I intend to be there for most.
Oddly I have a good feeling about this year.

Spag Bol he he.

i think your good feeling about this years snow season is well founded Donzah. I used a secret sauce recipe to predict the 2015 season depth at Spencers Creek. It was my first go at prediction based on an examination of Spencer data and summer stats at Obs Hill. I also examined some pig entrails he he he. I wish I still had the pages of notes I did and the calculation I did.

For what it's worth, I also have a good feeling about this season and have had for a while. Purely based on the thought: Hot summer should balance out to give a cold winter. Maybe not necessarily cold, but I think there will be a couple of very good snow events.

That spaghetti chart confused me, it's a bit too "busy" for my brain. Does the blue mean cold and is it showing the location of cold fronts? Or troughs? Can't work it out.

You know it's been wet when one of our cars got bogged on the lawn yesterday and then I was told that today the neighbour across the road's friend got bogged on their lawn. Apparently mum went over and helped them get it out.

As a side note, my pop has lived in the Southern Highlands for 40 years and reckons that it's colder than it should be in early April. He said that usually, he doesn't have the fire on regularly until around ANZAC day, but it's been on every day since this weekend.

I'm over this run of wet days we are having, but in saying that not much rain has fallen here these past few days, only a couple of mls each day.
Been working at North Rothbury for the past couple of days and had some really good downpours out there, quite heavy at times too.

Looking forward to this weekends warmth.

Brilliant sunny morning after a cool low of 9.2C. Moss Vale was down to 3 degrees and 1 degree at Cooma Ap.

Yes this weekend's warmth should be good, it should get pretty close to 30C but probably not any higher than that. Meanwhile GFS is still going for a solid cool change for early Monday morning with 0 at 850mb for the CT's but looking like a dry and pretty shallow change initially. The timing is all wrong for any snow other than a few flakes on the highest areas.

A beautiful morning in Sydney, sunny with light Westerlies, at 13.1 the coolest morning at OH since November 2. At 11.4, Olympic Park had its coldest morning since November 7. It dropped to single figures in a few cold hollows in Sydney's West.

It looks like we've got a few days of this weather coming up before a significant cold front on Sunday evening. The South-Easterly pattern looks set to resume from Tuesday for a week or so, with persistent cloud and showers returning East of the Divide, but not much rain.

Yep Beautiful morning here too, 3.1mm overnight again.

Chance of a Thunderstorm for this afternoon/evening, I wouldn't be surprised either to see some development later on this morning!!
Lets hope anyway.

The sattelite picture shows cloud and lightning over North-Central NSW, which is unexpected (by me anyway). Must be that slight trough extending from the Gulf of Carpentaria into Northern NSW. Doesn't look like much on the surface chart but it's having an effect.

Yes Steve - looks minimalist on the charts. The cloud looks interesting out here. Won't do much though.

Some nice chunky showers just to the north and west of town, very dark looking too.

Bit off topic but did anyone get an email about a temporary password request for their associated username. I did. And the ip address indicated the request eminated from the U.S or was at least routed thru a U.S based server. Should I contact an admin?

Was a fine morning but cloud build up. Has that heat sucking look of a trough up nor west.

No such email for me!! Best you do contact admin.

Nice and warm in that sun which is nice for a change, plenty of dark clouds just to my west but they are heading further west.

No such message for me either Knotty.

Airport says it's 18 degrees here BUT it feels a lot warmer than that out in the sun.

Had to duck up to Yetholme and it was even quite pleasant up there at about 1150m smile Only had the polo shirt on, stunning in the sun smile

The temperature - not me grin

Looking into the bowl of spaghetti
There is something really starting to brew for late easter.
Cold and cut off.
Meanwhile ,on Sunday night coming. The BOM are going for a broad 10-25cm of snow for Perisher/top of Thredbo
1200 freeze level.
This is going to be a shock.

Cheers Dave. Got thru to Admin and as a precaution I changed me password. Strange event.

Wow Donzah. That is a good dump for this time of year if it comes off.

Pretty mild day. Quite cloudy for a good part of the day.

Yeah , looks decent
Feels like mid to late April now in Wollongong.
Earlier than usual (ANZAC day last year was balmy)

Dave- No, I'm sure you would look stunning in the sun with a polo shirt on!!! poke

Totally agree Donzah, feels like the second half of April. A late Easter cold front would mean sunny weather in this area which would be a change from most Easters.

Was partly cloudy today and the breeze was cool but rather okay. The sun was certainly preferable to the shade. Now it's around 14C and clear skies.
