GFS is still going for a very weak front of sorts around Friday or Saturday. Whereas ACCESS is predicting a weak northerly airflow for many days without any sign of cold fronts.

Hope access is wrong. A tantalizing taste of winter only to be replaced by extended above average warmth and boring light wind days sux.

It's another sunny day in Sydney after a pleasantly cool morning (10-13 at most Sydney stations). It's now about 20-21 with light winds. Maybe we miss the traditional Easter downpour this year.

Although most of the sky, including overhead, is clear, there's a fairly solid-looking (and convective-looking) bank of cloud to the East. Winds on the Illawarra seem to have turned Southerly on the coast. The satellite picture shows the cloud bank moving away from the coast, so hopefully there's nothing in it.

Yeah the same weather gets mundane after a while. All I want is a good cold front (like earlier this week) but westerly winds to follow and sunny weather for a whole week. At least northerlies are a bit nicer than southerlies for me anyway.

By the time you woke up, we had already a bucket full of School Whiting and not to mention a half a dozen beers as well!!! grin

As Steve777 mentioned, there is a nice bank of storm clouds out to sea. Other than that is just a beautiful day all round.

Love that pic Eddy. Weird creatures.
High pressure dominant weather in Autumn is so sterile. But I guess it keeps the bikinis round longer so I cant complain too much he he

It was a gorgeous day here - reached a high of 15 after a low of 1C early this morning with a patchy frost. Already down to 6C, so likely another frost.

Hi guys. smile

Yesterday was almost a carbon copy of Thursday and Friday's weather here in the Upper Murray. A touch cooler today though, but after a nippy night it was another beautiful day! smile

Reached around 21C here in Corryong. I'm unsure what the low was, but it was 4.1C out at Khancoban, NSW. Hardly a cloud in the sky; again the sun felt kinda hot but there was a cooling breeze. smile

The only mist I saw at dawn was way off in the distance, although it might've been haze.

Also, a great deal of smoke drifting southeastwards from a couple of control burns in Shelley and Koetong to the west during the afternoon.

Another nippy night coming up, around 7C at the last check! But more warm, sunny weather ahead tomorrow afternoon. smile

Btw, Khancoban reached a top of 23.4C on Friday.

Could today be the most pleasant and sunny Easter Sunday that we have had on the east coast in a long time?

Absolutely stunning day outside with 25C and SW winds with perfect sunshine, except for some high cloud and now a bit of low cloud. Best day we have had all Autumn by a long shot IMO.

Reached 15C here again today. Now 13 and rather breezy with a SW wind.

Maybe not. It's a cloudy and cool afternoon, but this time it's high cloud.

This comment was pretty close to the mark actually WR!
Despite an overcast afternoon (which was just high cloud from the west anyway which gave us a wintery feeling), I cannot remember a more perfect 3 day start to an Easter weekend for years.
23-25 deg's for 3 days running with clear blue skies on the most part.
The temps keep both the warm and cool lovers happy, and there was not any scud or annoying showers.
It has been such a perfect Easter weekend weatherwise.
Happy Easter everyone!!

Yeah Homer, certainly in my lifetime I don't remember any Easter's coming close to this one in weather quality. How unusual, first we got a picture perfect Christmas AND then Easter. What is going on!?!

After the beginning of the year being quite extreme, April has been very seasonal so far. And look at this coming week, sunny and temps around 23C for the most part. That's exactly where it should be for this time of year. A bit on the boring side though.

Evening gang!

Another lovely day here in the Upper Murray yesterday. It dawned nippy, getting down to 3.0C here at Corryong, at least at the airport; it was about 5C on my thermometer when I rose to quickly check the sunrise. Khancoban, NSW meanwhile dipped to 3.7C.

The sunrise was beautiful, made all the more gorgeous by a layer of mid-level and high-level cloud from the west/northwest. I missed the best of it unfortunately, and I didn't stay outside long because it was very cold! No frost, fog or mist btw, just heavy dew and faint smoke haze. eek

The rest of the day was a split-personality. It was cloudy up until lunchtime, and I was worried that it might rain. But around 11am, the sun started breaking through the clouds, and by 3pm it was another warm, mostly sunny afternoon! smile

Again, it was noticeably cooler than the previous couple of days this weekend, making it only to about 21C. The sun had a bit of a hot sting to it, again offset by cooling breezes. Still, it was nice being outside for a couple of hours. smile

The clouds retreated east into NSW/ACT by late-afternoon, leaving us with a mostly clear, albeit hazy evening. The smoke from ongoing burn-offs in the Shelley/Koetong region to the west helped to spice up the sunset. smile

Yet another cold night coming up. Currently around 8C.

Any signals pointing to this bland weather coming to end. Dont get me wrong. I am not talking rain. Just want more wind.

If we've been getting to 24/25 with a tinge of south in the breeze than high twenties on cards looking at the synoptic. The synoptic is taking on the appearance of the jan/ early feb setup. Stag high in Tasman. Not the look you want to see halfway thru astro autumn. Its the failure of the high northerly migration that gives us such a paltry frontal count the past few winters. Will this year be the same
