Hello Eddy. The moon was rising but the sun had only just set which left too much light and consequently the moon was left looking a little dull and lifeless. I used my Pentax 55/300 zoom lens

Amazing pics everyone, it's really great to see the photography threads busy again. There was a while not too long ago where no one was posting in these threads.

I will upload some pics later if I can be bothered. smile None of the ones I've taken lately are too crash hot and none come even close to the quality on here- amazing.

Nice colour in those autumn leaves Steve and Wassa. If only they lasted a little longer than 2 weeks. Actually I had to look twice at your first pic Wassa. I was looking at the car parked in the driveway thinking 'that aint a zephyr' smile
Eddy, yes you'll have to treat yourself to a longer lens. I have a lot of fun with my zoom. I think sometimes you just need one to achieve the result you desire.
Markus its nice that you had an idea and a location picked out and finally one morning everything comes to fruition. Well done! Go SA smile
Oh and Wave Rider I'm sure we'd all like to see anything you'd like to share from your part of the world. smile
I hope to put some pics up shortly ....

These pics are from the last few days. The first from Georgetown and the last three from Gladstone. The second one was lightning active but I couldn't fluke a bolt frown

Lovely pictures Wassa, Markus, Skysthlimit.

Here are a couple of pictures I took from the Newcastle Breakwater at sunset yesterday:

Next, looking back towards Nobbys Head. The sea was quite rough, with waves splashing onto the path at times:

Cheers mate! For that i'll chuck up a few more from that morning, was bloody awesome to finally get back out into the fog, I didn't see one good event for the whole of last year!

Thanks everyone else for the comments as well smile

Imgur compression affecting these images a little, but not too bad.

The blanket effect of fog is always best just before sunrise.

Side lit here. The above image was taken looking to the right, but the fog was deeper in the valley behind me and was flowing around the hill I was on like a slow motion river. The sunrise lit it up so that everything was saturated in colour.

Had to get a pic of this scene, the fog had lifted from the next valley over, 'eclipsing' the sun, whilst the inversion held in this valley.

Sad to see it is almost the end of autumn frown still see the odd tree that hasn't turned, another week of autumn colours and it will be done and dusted I think.

Eddy, Steve, Warren, STL and Marcus, fantastic photos. I have been meaning to put photos up for ages but have not been bothered until now. So a month's worth of my best photos I took. If I shared all of them there'd be hundreds. poke

Thanks for sharing Wave Rider. My favourites are no3 and no7 I think because of the people element (plus I love waves) Do they catch a lot of fish at Flagstaff Point? Looks like a top spot smile

No worries Skysthelimit, yeah I think it is a pretty good fishing spot. Those two photos were actually taken at the same place but no3 looking east and no7 looking south. Yeah it's a nice spot there and right near the city as well.
