Who else has a webcam or IP camera set up?.

I tried a few years ago with an el cheapo IP camera, set up to face in a notherly direction, but it kept stopping and the sun got to it eventually.

Decided recently to try again, so ended up getting an Edimax one from MSY Computers for $99.

I wanted to get one that allows the camera to be viewed without having to log into the camera.

I have it set up facing roughly south west.

Who else has one set up?

I got a bunch of these for $30 each -

Don't pay $100 obviously - cheaper elsewhere.

It's the Chinese version of - https://www.ismartalarm.com/devices/cameras/spot/isa00013.html

Installed custom firmware that gives me RTSP - only local at the moment but next project is to get it on the web. Super cheap solution and I've got N S E and W covered.
Probably not the best long term solution although mine have held up to the elements fine with makeshift weatherproofing.

I'll gather up some links of ones council and such have up.

I think I might buy one of those Ryan. Much more practical than the little Chinese cubes (beware by default they're constantly connecting to Chinese servers transfering data, also susipible to being turned into zombie botnets)

I have a RaspberryPi on my roof with a webcam that runs mjpeg-streamer for weatherwebcam and dump1090 for VirtualRadar.

You can look out the webcam:

I have a Core4 PiII in there now and a better radio for 1090MHz, really need to put a PiCam in there - just have a Logitec thing.

You could get Pi Camkit and then follow the MotionEyeOs tutorial.

My original setup was only working intermittently as it relied on my IP adress and when Telstra changed it, it would stop working and I wasn't happy with the camera either, so now using an TP lInk NC450 and now uploads through FTP to weather underground (wunderground).

Photo is embedded on my weather page, and while a new image is automatically uploaded to weather underground, the image link on my site has to be refreshed manually.

Here we go again my next attempt at a weather webcam for my station in Gulfview Heights, South Australia.

After the announcement of the demise of wunderground webcam hosting, decided to have a crack at doing it myself.

My current setup is an Intel NUC computer running windows 10 with yawcam and camera used is the Microsoft Lifecam Studio USB webcam.

direct link to webcam. Decided on the stactic image that updates every 10 seconds.

Here is it integrated into weather page on my site.
