Lol it was sarcasm in regards to how uninteresting the weather is right now. I know that it is common and even 180 degree difference is common, eg morning westerly then afternoon E or NEer. I was being facetious as well Yeah its pretty dull mind you we had some cracker showers last night Woke to a very wet and sodden dewy morning Car took ages to de-mist.

11-25C last 3 days in a row, and may well be the same again for the next 2 days as well. (as minimums have been slightly less than the forecast). These are glorious, mild-warm with no wind, carbon copy days, which are an absolute treat at this time of the year.

Most of the models have given up any pretence of an ECL next week. They appear to be merging towards a bog standard strong W/SW wind flow across SE Australia.
Timing for Anzac Day is still up for grabs. Depending on the model, for the ranges and westwards you could be in a pre frontal rain band, or an even colder post front SW wind.
The old Canberra adage of Winter starts on Anzac Day is looking sound.

Yeah I often regard the cool season as commencing about then too, certainly the end of any swimming or beach weather. (although we had a couple of recent years with very warm temps in the last week of April) Looks like it turns cool from the next day onwards this year, and some max temps below 20C. In the meantime, the weather is about as gorgeous as you can get at this time of the year. Mid 20s in the day, and cool at night, the old winter winter flannies and PJ's have just come out as well.

We were at the beach last year. 22nd May. Water was 21 degrees, air temp was mid 25ish. I don't think that will occur this year.

Yeah was always going to be a bog standard change. The ridge looked way too strong for anything interesting to happen. I don't mind though. A nice sustained SWer will knock down some residual temps inland.

I spent a few hours beside the seaside late arvo. There is simply no hint of a winter ahead. A modest nor easter was blowing. It wasnt cool on the skin at all. Heck. I am still using a blanket at night. I was hoping to migrate to a doonah by now. The wet season hanging around up north. Highs cant move north till it ends. No juicy stuff for rest of April I fear. Sun a third of way to Cancer.

Some rad convection around the coast of Wollongong. Some of it busting through the mid layer AC clouds. Like a nuclear explosion . Really cool to see. I don't think much will come of it.

There was some lightning to the south around 2am so there was definitely some convection around last night as well. Might go for a drive to the coast (or lake) and check that convection out.
And yes I noticed the decent cool change. Still too SWly for me in the latest models. SW changes turn southerly way too quick and give us sh!thouse weather. I want a westerly one.

Storm up the top of Macquarie Pass. Yeah, looks to be moving pretty slow so I'd say it will stay up there or collapse before reaching here.
