Just on 5.30pm tonight the snow came in heavy and re settled. Only light but enough to make gardens and lawns white ish. Snow settled 3 times today.

Still light dusting out there and a few snow showers about.

Current temp 1.0 degrees

Snowies left his job and his source of information (via the mine) has gone. Plus spent a fair bit of time in Launceston (-3 last night). Anyway, the road closure alerts suggest that waratah had a bit more than a dusting. Sunny but cold in the central north.

Looks like fairly substantial rain up this way for Friday, models suggesting 20-40mm.

Was hoping to be a kept man, but found a new job... Taswater.

I meant to add that looking at yesterdays road closures and seeing some of the videos taken by motorists on the midland hwy, can't help but get the feeling the better snow was north/north east of Hobart - obviously the low level falls occurred further south, but places like Oatlands, similar in altitude to SF had a nice cover. The road between Richmond and Campania (not exactly a regular on the police alerts) was affected by snow as were most of the roads around Colebrook.

Anyone who was on the ground have a better view of it?

PS: BoxingKoala, I believe we have met in the not too distant past...

Ooh doesn't that last bit sound cryptic. grin

Interesting that Oatlands etc did well, usually a bit of a rainshadow area. Probably the more southerly direction of the winds this time. smile

My former company did business with Mr Koala's company, looking for evidence of other furry critters near the mine.

Snowies, if you end up living in D, you'd better invite us down for a visit, we love that place. We know the good food shops especially smile

Hey Pay, you back for that one in September?

Yes mate whenever we get down that way (not sure when next) will catch up for sure. Shame you won't get up here for a visit either. Give us a yell any time you look like heading to the north island. grin

We like pretty much anywhere in Tassie smile We even considered living on the West Coast for a while but we head someone called Payshense lived there grin

Ole Pay needs to keep the presence 24/7 over west, we only have one person contributing now for the whole left hand side of the place. smile

A couple of you have the North covered smile

Del to forth is what, about 30 minutes? A tad more? & Del to Launnie similar I guess.
