Well if it happens I will be heading to a cooler town than here, will see snow fall several times a year etc. In that way it's fine.

It's the upheaval that I wasn't expecting is the issue. Sick of moving!! smile It is testing my optimism because we seem to be getting major issues of some sort or another every 3 or 4 years. I will persevere smile

A beautiful Sat gave way to a cool gloomy Sunday and today is no better. Up here in Devonport it 8/8th low cloud cover, stiff northerly wind and pretty fresh. Had a couple of mm of rain.

Rest of the week looks clear and frosty.

Major issues only get worse DM, at some point we all reach an age where death lurks in the 3-4 year window... at least this was born out of your own runaway success.

Yep Dan, Fiona getting Cancer was the worst blow of all. Luckily that has settled down for a while. At some point it will come back, we know that.

We lost our house and money, lost 3 parents in 2 years etc etc etc.

Healthwise (other than cancer) Fiona has had an ankle fusion, has a bad knee (me too) etc. It's been a bit tough.

Anyhow we've coped with all the above and we'll cope with whatever we need to. It just takes a bit to adjust smile

How good does the sat pic look - a big speckly brain shape in the GAB right now smile

Cold air hammering on the door of the west coast of Tassie right now.

Mr Payshense - stand by to receive grin

It should cool quickly over the next few hours down there.

Jeez DM, that is a rough trot, I didn't know about the cancer, the ankle or the knees! I can't claim to know how you feel, but can understand your desire for a slower passed life. Pass on my best wishes to Fiona (and your knee)! Lucky she has you by her side (gazing out the window at the weather), but make sure you look after yourself as well!

Yep, about to cool down quickly. Perks of a Tassie Autumn.

All good Dan - you know I've always enjoyed giving you goons a good chance to laugh at me when we all used to be able to catch up grin

I miss those fun days/nights etc grin

I use the fun to keep moving along smile Otherwise I'd be a sad sack and that's no good. smile

Her indoors has a knee much worse than mine sadly. Date of birth disease always gets ya grin

I see the speckle is crossing the state now. Strahan 12 degrees, snow to 800 - wish I was there grin

You guys live in the best part of Oz by far grin

Looking further afield quite strong divergence in the models this morning, between a weak cold change, a stronger cold change or an 'east coast low' with rain in the south and east. Guess we'll probably get the weak cold change as ACCESS and EC 10 day prefer that option...

Dropped to a low of 2.1 last night. Light frost on some of the old grass clippings.

Mornin'

38mm to 9am

Still sitting on the overnight minimum of 4

Blowing a very crisp SW at 20-30kts

Awesome thunderstorm earlier this morning. Lightning flashing through the windows followed seconds later by deafening thunder. Dogs were bouncing off the walls. Pea size hail covered the lawn in a white blanket for a while.

Havent seen Mount Owen yet this morning. Fair bet there is at least a light dusting up there.

And its just started hailing again... smile

DM, I was watching that earlier, me thinks Edwina should come and do the weather from over here.

You tell Eddy that, sure she would come a runnin!!! smile

I met her about 7 years ago in Adaminaby, we were managing a 47 room motel there and she came to report on the brumbies in the Snowies. She was there a couple of days - quite a character grin Very pleasant and cheery person indeed.

I cooked her and her team some evening meals, our restaurant only opened for skiing months but I cooked basic meals other times of the year.

Plenty of speckled cloud hitting your side of the state smile

Good morning to you taswegios! Always enjoy the chatter from the main island. A nice dusting on Mt Wello chilled off the air quite nicely before it blew across to Edwina on Bruny this morning! smile

Aaannd, I've just finished imbibing another dose of Tassie folklore: reading Deny King's story. The Tin Man of Melaleuca. 'twould be a tad breezy down that way today. cool

And lover of the Orange bellied parrot. A real envorinmentalist was Deny.

Like you, I suspect a breeze may be about in the SW smile

Currently -1.1 on Mt Wellington, not much precip though - just sporadic showers.

A video from the Cradle Mountain region 5 hours ago, looks like a reasonable dusting. A facebook video for anyone who uses it.

I hear reports the OBP's are struggling for numbers again. We need Deny back there!

Shame that they are struggling. Spent 2 weeks at Birches Inlet many years ago, as an observer on the OBP breeding program there. Was lucky enough to be there at exactly the right time as the parrots were mating at the time. Our job was to record the coloured bands on each parrot, mating pairs, the sex of wild born OBP's and location of wild nesting sites. Observations were made using a high powered telescope. One of the best experiences of my life.

Hello Snow lovers ,
Went off to work this a.m with a small furry of wanna be snow flying around the driveway. A great sight this morning as well with a dusting on the upper ridges and around the needle on
Mt W. Nearly got blown off the tip face today with some really big gust coming through. Some more spectacular days on the way , so lets hope it's all turned into the awesome season.
On a personal note , all the best Dave whatever the future holds for your family . Losing the house and your savings is no fun having been there myself with a certain NQ financial adviser co. We have managed to get back up but probably will never retire smile Take care mate !

-0.9 this morning and a nice frost to go with it. A lot of cloud during the night, temp jumped around quite a lot - but that wasn't unique to us. Cressy reached -2.2, Fingal -2.7 and Launceston -0.7 - most of the central north was colder than Liawenee this morning.
