Been nice to have a month that's actually on average temps for once.

None of this 2-3 degrees warmer than average that was becoming very common.

Hopefully a good sign for a cold and snowy winter. smile

Hi all,

Yeah WL, one can only hope for a wild snowy winter!! grin

Should be some good falls up North DM, not expecting much in the Southeast, Im hoping for at least 10mm... only time will tell, also noticed the Bom are pretty confident of some storms and gusty winds in the North as well! smile

Had a lot of cloud creep in from the East this arvo and the Easterly has just picked up in the last hour or so.

Good weekend to sleep in and have a break I reckon!

Current obs, 12.9C, 1025.8hPa, Easterly 16 km/h, gusts 27 km/h.

Hi all up at Great Lake.
Going to Liawenee open day to let the kids catch a trout tomorrow.
Raining well ATM, had 54mm in the gauge since Saturday of Agfest.
15mm More than Liawenee, which is normally wetter that the shack on the SE end of the Lake.
The shack has had 60+mm for the month.
The weather is looking a lot more interesting ATM!

Cheers Dave

Looking good to hit 20c in Hobart today, and gee the end of the month looks mild. There goes that "average" month for temperature which was looking promising earlier on..

At least you should be close to average I suppose. Better than way above like it often was down there too many times.

I reckon if any of us got a cooler than average month we might freeze - not used to that!! smile

Up here, we will be not quite but almost 2 degrees above with our max. 18 vs 16 "ish" so far.

Mornings slightly cooler than average BUT a run of milder nights coming will probably "fix" that situation.

Yeah that average isn't looking so good now.
Very mild this week for late May.
Only cooled to 12 degrees overnight in Hobart.

Though early on the first week of winter looks pretty promising for cold weather smile

Agree WL from say next Tuesday on looks interesting with some chance of several pretty cold fronts wandering through over the following period of days.

Much more confident now that Tassie will see a run of fronts over the next week or so.

I note about 3 or so mm in Hobart rain gauge. Not much but something I suppose.

We've hit that time of year where our nights get noticeably cooler than Hobarts. We averaging about 2 overnight for May, Hobart about 7 or 8.

Your days are cooler though than here. Hobart about 15 so far and we're about 18.

Rain wise, Bathurst & Hobart almost identical total ytd. smile

Cold and wet with hail showers...

16mm in the gauge

Currently 7

As has been said...The forecast is looking good for a decent cool change heading into next week. Bring on the white stuff!

Maybe we will see snow forecast to as low as 600m by Sunday? Thickness down to 532 over the SW early Monday. http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/viewer/index.shtml?type=mslp-thick&tz=UTC&area=Au&model=G

Typical left hand side stuff by the sound of it smile

Bit fresher than here smile

Yep if it's going to be cool, may as well go all the way and get snow smile

Yes 532 should get you some flakeage at around 600 without too much trouble smile

Could be a nice white shawl on Owen smile

Sat pic looks interesting this morning. A huge standing cloud wave over the centre. Everything fanging by in general except for a large area of cloud stationery over about half of Tas.

Looks like a wet finish to the month for the north and west, might push 120mm for the month after quite a dry start. Frosts have all but dried up in the last couple of weeks. Had close to 20mm mid week and ~85mm for the month
