Wouldn't say that just yet DU. Hopefully, that low up near the Solomons tracks close enough to the coast later in the week to enhance our rainfall along the NTC.

Yes, I'm odd. Not looking forward to another 6 months like today lol.
At least the washing dries quickly, I don't have to pay for mowing, but I have to water the plants at least every 2 days if not daily.

Noticed that too hickory. There are inconsistencies with the BOM forecast rainfall map and the rain forecast on their detailed forecast for the area. Hopefully tomorrow all the forecasts will be saying wet!!!! smile

We'll know on monday who was the better of the rwo, Simmo.

BoM does seem to guesstimate closer than WZ most of the time.

Laughable that forecast isn't it!

Hopefully, that low tracks a little bit more to the SW or we will likely get two spits out of it!

We can only hope HF.
Three years ago today cyclone Ita was dumping over 300mm in the valley in just over 24 hours.

Far out..!..these forecasts make it hard to plan anything...currently bailing out about 20 post holes as I had planned concreting posts in for this morning and chasing a barra after that....so much for that idea..!.

Whats the story for the rest of the week guys..?..anything happening with the orchids and ants, 28 ...?

I would just like to know - how come I - a Southerner used to long cold winters and now ensconced in Tropicana, put a jumper on this morning but it is 25 degrees?
Which has me in a mental state of worry - driving down to Victoria to see the kiddies (they are actually in their mid thirties, adults I suppose, which makes me very adulty) and then onto my partners navy reunion at CANBERRA of all places considered frosty....how will I cope? The time frame is the beginning of May.
No orchids flowering here scott12 apart from a nativey type one with small yellow flowers - is this considered portentous in the scheme of things?

The ants seem to have disappeared. No idea where their homes are now. :))

Felt like rain yesterday afternoon, and feels like it now. Wishful thinking.

Not sure I'd like to be in NZ right now, but I'm sure it will be interesting.

Edit: a 3 blanket night last night, and I've had jeans on all day today.

Spent a night in Cooma last winter, -6.5c. Was awesome smile
Sounds like maybe a crucifix orchid there Kowree, they last a fair while, unlike the doves.

I have noticed the ants are erecting their untidy little mounds all over the lawn which makes mowing bumpy but hey, they were here first, so must be mindful - will still run over them though.
The orchid - it is an untidy mass of coarse large leaves - I got a piece off a tree thieved from the neighbours paddock. The spray is about 30cm long and the flowers are minute (quarter of the size of my small fingernail) and basically yellow with orange dots on the petals.
I should do a creek crossing and trespass through the cattle paddock again to check out the parent. A bit of research done and the closest I can come at is the Dendrobium discolor, but the flowers are so midgety. I doubt if an orchid fancier would fancy it really.
