Cheers

I was surprised to see how rare days under 10 are in the months of March and April.

You have to go back to 22nd March 1925 for the last time this happened.
It maxed out at 8.9 that day.
Interestingly we have had a day under 10 in Feb much more recently.
On 23rd February 1964 it maxed out at 9.6 degrees.

Last time we had a day under 10 in April was 1973.
It also happened numerous times throughout the 1960's.

Hey SF - go find MH, whack him in shorts and shove him out in it when it's cold - he needs a cool break bounce

You'll love it MH grin

Big turning point this week. Late April/Anzac Day seems to be a formidable force re the weather gods most of the time. smile

Keep smiling P smile

Hi all,

Had a bit over 15mm in 4 small totals between 3.3 and 4.7mm. Much heavier rain in the NW, unofficial report of 67mm at Calder to 9am this morning. Pretty flat temps since late Saturday. Looks like some heavier rain tomorrow and a decent frost on Thursday.

Has prospect of snow pulled back a bit? This morning Gfs critical layers over Hobart aren't as cold as they were a day or so ago - would still think the mountain is a good chance

Don't think they have pulled back, but probably a lack of moisture contributing to the relatively quiet forum. There was a few light patches of snow on the summit of the Mountain this morning.

Ended up with 25mm since very early sat. Had 8mm Monday night and 1mm last night.

Will be windy and quite cool, especially anywhere elevated.

Another decent change looks likely mid next week too.

Can't see you getting to 20 degrees any time soon smile

Frosty like covering at the top not observable from the city I don't imagine that is going to change today. Early tomorrow morning will be a different story I am sure, the first official snowcap of the year. The first usually happens in the first half of April sometimes March so it's been a wait! Very nice and fresh though.

Probably get a few lighter showers later this afternoon if the winds go right around to the S or SSW.

Frost warning out for much of the state tonight.

Last snow day on Mt Wellington was at the start of December. Do you mean the central highlands? That can happen at anytime of the year though Dave.

Yes thinking of the highlands really and extrapolating that it would mean quite cool conditions elsewhere smile

Oh I know it can happen any time - that's what I loved about the place smile
