Evening all 😀😀

Thought I'd get a new thread going for the impending
Pretty cold blast due to hit later and endure through
Most of Sunday.
Looking like a pretty snowy system for mainly
The more southern resorts down to possibly
1000m. Some hail in there as well and plenty
Of wind!
Get your heaters ready and enjoy!!😀

Overnight low of 4.3C, reached a top of 20.2C here in Belgrave today. Mostly sunny, but a very nippy start to the day! eek

Only patchy fog and mist on my way to work this morning, but I did see a possibly heavy fog blanket away south towards the Mornington Peninsula while passing though Ringwood.

Also patchy mid-level and high-level cloud ahead of the approaching frontal system.

Currently around 7C.

Thanks for the thread dooga', sure has been first rate weather, interrupted by the odd chilly blast from way down south that can battle into the prevalent highs.

Have seen snow on (our) Mount Wellington prob. four times so far this year and then the highs kick in again and away we go with more beaut weather !!

Project weather - round home - 3.5cb metres top soil by shovel & hand mixing concrete in the last week or so, best time of year for those sort of (dubious) activities grin

Another beaut day here (and in Bairnsdale) - calm and sunny after light frost - despite the baro falling 5 points to 1024 hPa since last evening.

Samboz should have one last day to shovel in the remaining top soil ahead of the late arvo wintery change looming tomorrow! My guess an additional garden to plant basil to add even more flavour to those famous sausages he makes up there!

....and Petros is hoping he can sneak into the bar at Royal Maffra, dry just ahead of the "weather" (non thundery acc. to BOM's latest forecast) circa 4:30pm:

How much rain you thinking P, 2 or 3 if lucky ?, some cold air mass though with ACCESS showing about 15hrs of 536 air.

Agree dooga', should be a sprinkle of snow mixed up in that -

Overnight low of 6.8C, reached a mild/warm, mostly sunny top of 22.2C here in Belgrave today. smile

Pity I was stuck indoors because of work commitments at Box Hill, but at least it wasn't too cold when I left home this morning, with only patchy fog here in my area, and that was in the basin surrounding Belgrave Lake Park). Plus it was fairly pleasant on the way back this evening, around 18C for much of the journey. smile

Plenty of mid-level and high-level cloud sailed over Melbourne from the west0 during the day, which made for a lovely sunset in Ringwood.

Northerly winds seem to be picking up out there, and it's a balmy night... for once! Currently around 15C.

Looking forward to this weekend's cold blast! grin

Hit the forecast Max of 21C after a nice sunny calm day here with some gusts coming thru' from the W round 1500hrs.

The clouds are racing eastbound to our S and the firewood is up for the chill enroute. Seems a little ridiculous that sitting inside @ 20C will be markedly reduced in a few hours!!

Radar shows its a heap cooler behind the change, with Hamilton - 10C and in front of it - Orbost 23C.

Highest rainfall I could find was 2.8mm @ Ferny Creek.

I recorded 22.9C here, mild, often sunny playing golf today - despite consistent fresh NW'ly pulsing breeze.

Different story now, showers and cold WSW'ly outside now. The heater is on!

Baro has bounced upwards from a 1016 hPa minimum, heralding this change.

A dusting of snow overnight to excite a few newspaper pictures is probably the only thing remarkable with this change??

Of 6.0c, plenty of heavy showers and a lazy
Wind!
Currently 7.1c and still receive showers.

Will check the rain Guage shortly, thinking
We got around 1/2"??

Yesterday's report:

Reached a top of 19.7C in Belgrave, following an overnight low of 13.6C.

It dawned mostly sunny, but also quite windy. By about midday it became cloudy, with the front coming through around 1:30pm. A very sharp temperature drop after the change moved in; it was only around 12C at 3pm!

Quite heavy showers with and following the passage of the front, which lasted well into the afternoon and evening. smile

As for today:

Overnight low of 6.9C, currently around 9C and partly cloudy with showers, but also with sunny breaks. Had some surprisingly heavy rain around 8:30am this morning, which lasted about 10 minutes! smile

Nice surprise Dooga! ...and a surprise to the low side for you Ruckle.

Talking of surprises, I just emptied out 5mm from my gauge - was expecting only 2mm or so. Some of the early morning showers did seem to be heavy! Cold 13C here now, sometimes lower under the odd passing shower this arvo.

Reached a top of 13.8C here in Belgrave today, my coldest day for the year so far. At the last check it was around 9C. Brrrr! eek

Further heavy showers swept through during the day, but most cleared off by lunchtime. A few further showers moved through late in the afternoon and into the evening. We also had lengthy sunny periods! I spotted a couple of rainbows today, including one on the way down to Dandenong this morning. smile

Calm cold non-frosty start ended up with a cold fresh W'ly cloudy day here, TC of rain (must have been last night), baro back up to 1030 hPa.

Not much ahead rainwise in the 8 day outlook for Gippy!

.....I dont think my "late planted" beans and snow pea's are going to produce before the "frost bites". frown

Overnight low of 6.8C, reached a top of only 16.4C here in Belgrave today. Currently around 9C.

A fairly dank, dreary day with mostly cloudy, showery conditions (not much in the way of rainfall though), but with some sunny breaks too. A bit foggy at times on my way to Box Hill this morning too, mainly around the Dandenong Ranges.
