Looks like parts of the northern beaches are about to cop it with a red cell pushing onshore.

Edit Reason: replaced 'Rainfall' with 'Showers', and shortened date from 16th to 14th

Looks like mothers day plans could be very affected if one of those red blobs drops in.

Anytime we get some rumbles from the Nor east , its HEAVY rain.

Just had torrential rain with hail and thunder, would have been flash flooding around the place.
Will be interesting to see how much fell on the BoM update at 11am

Yeah some of the heaviest torrential downpours I can ever remember have been from the NE.

Terry Hills had 31 millimetres this morning, including 25mm in half an hour between 11:00 and 11:30. Mona Vale had 27mm between 10:00 and 11:00.

Once the 'Rainfall and River Conditions' are updated afte 12:00 there'll be more big totals on the Northern Beaches.

Just light rain here.

EDIT: heavy showers are moving into the Hills district. Homer will be getting some heavy rain soon.

It's very unstable today, much more than I originally thought.

The 10 day models look very strange for this time of year. You could swear that we are going out of winter with this outlook. Nothing even remotely resembling winter for the next 10 days. I'm not complaining but geez it's unusual.

Went to the Cronulla's Northern Beaches yesterday and the water felt a bit warmer than the forecast 21C Sea Temp. Maybe just the wetsuit effect.

Bucketing down rain for the last 5 minutes here at Bexley North.

Pouring down with rain here from the tiniest blip on radar.

Edit: Very loud thunder.

Well with an trough currently just offshore and an approaching upper trough starting to make its way eastward we should see a small low develop, most likely off the Mid North Coast somewhere. The low is expected to move eastward quite quickly according to the BOM.

But anyway we are already seeing some decent falls along the coast in some places and even some embedded thunder too.

Good stuff Eddy. I guess Seabreeze will have to move some posts from the DTD thread into this one.

Yeah quite possibly. I was going to make this thread last night when I said I was, time snuck away from me as I had my Cricket Presentation on!!

Anyway its still dry here, overcast and calm. There is certainly some threatening clouds about.

Surprisingly cool day.
The 24 hour graph shows we went over our forecast max to 22C after 1pm, then dropped dramatically as a SSE airflow has been in effect all afternoon since then.

After nearly reaching 20c at lunch time, the temp has dropped considerably in the last 15 minutes or so as this gusty se breeze has come through.

Getting darker as the afternoon goes but still nothing falling here as yet.

We got more than an hour of rain here. The first part was heavy and then just light rain for the rest of it. Probably lasted an hour and a half at a guess. Roads are still wet. Very, very localised.
