Which is ironically why some of us are so concerned. We do live in a great country, not quite the Scandinavian model of wealth distribution and social inclusion, but not the USA either.

However we see policies and direction taking us towards the USA - why?

Do we really want a USA style health system? Where you can rack bills over $10K without even an overnight stay - broken arm $17K.

Do you want a class of working poor, people working at fast food restaurants for $6 an hour, often working 2-3 jobs?

Do you want university fees that rival mortgages?

Because this is where we are being herded.

Yes Comrade !

Don't bother contacting them. They are on a coffee break.

No surprises there. Fraudband, and not just because most got / will get inferior FTTN, but because the TotalBull paid Telstra $11 Billion a rancid copper network.

Telsrra is Howard's bed mate. He even wears their sponsored tracksuits to go for his morning walk yet many Australians are oblivious to the scam.

Meanwhile I recall someone in here saying One Nation had integrity some time back. How's that working out? I listened to whole conversation Ashby had . He suggested scamming party candidates then claimed he was taken out of context. Scum. Always was, always will be. He should have been jailed over the Slippergate scandal along with Mal Brough.

Just like the average Australian voter is a special kind of stupid? ... think how stupid the average voter is and half of the voters are stupider than that (a twist on a quote by George Carlin).

This is how it works. The economy is built around corporations. Corporations particularly the media run governments. Media corporation can destroy governments. That's why we have a corporate sycophant who is an ex-Vice President of Goldman Sachs International as our Prime minister, Lord Wentworth.

We deserve what we get after taking our eyes of the ball.

Warren.

PS, The bankster Lord Wentworth was also President of Goldman Sachs Australasia ... the revolving door to more obscene wealth is just waiting for him.

Just like 80% of politicians these days from both sides. They go on to jobs as lobbyists, bankers, consultants, that pay ridiculous salaries, largely as a thanks of a job well done while in power, a job well done for the company that is.

I was only thinking the other day, the problem we are facing is employers have shifted to thinking of their employees as an expense, not as a valuable resource that helps bring in profits.

Some employees think of the employer as a cash cow to pull as many $$'s out of while putting in as little effort on a day in/day out basis - it cuts both ways in my exp. o'thunder.

The same employee is the one that arrives late to do work for you, works in a shop but rather send texts while you stand there etc, etc.

Life is a balancing act, try and see both sides of the scale.

Re todays News reports of a 12yr old Aus. girl killed in a Baghdad bombing.

Some questions - should the Aus. Govt. allow such visits where extremist actions are still being carried out ?

What the hell goes on in the mind of the parents who take kids to such violent/risky environments & should Child Welfare agencies in Aus. consider action against the parents on their return ?

Eight bombings in Baghdad in January 2017 - and they took children there, totally irresponsible !

Edit - quick count, 87 deceased, ratio of 4 or 5 injured for every death in the above mentioned eight bombings.

Cannot deny that there are bludgers. Generally they are in low paid thankless jobs.

I think however the weight from say the 1970's is now well and truly shifted to overwork. Look at any number of reports and Australia over works.

Look at our service staff - Nurses - bludgers? Police - bludgers, even the public service these days is full of people working 10 hour days and expectations of senior staff to work 1 day of the weekend, and be on call by smartphone until all hours - all unpaid.

Little Johnny Howard and his band of merry men.

Weapons of mass destruction.

Rubbish, JH had nothing to do with the parents taking kids out of AUS to a dangerous environment.

Let the responsibility rest squarely on the shoulders of the people making the decision, not some previous PM.

I agree. Just another example of the west sticking it's nose in where it doesn't belong and doing it for political and economic reasons while pretending it is for humanitarian ones. Pretty much exactly the same thing has happened in Syria because of Obama and a lot of us are getting sick of it.

Samboz is right though. What the hell were the parents doing taking their kid to Iraq. That is far more ridiculous than swimming in a northern Australian estuary at night.

He made the decision to get involved in a lie about WMD's. That will always be his legacy. The fallout continues today, including the endless bombings that are killing children. You need to take those liberal biased blinkers off. He , Bush and Blair are also responsible for the flood of refugees that followed.

We can both agree on that. Now if Obeid gets at least 10 years I will be very happy.

The difference between the Labor crooks and Liberal ones is that the Liberal ones have the smarts and connections to huge corporations to get away with things in the semi murk of legal but totally unethical.

Like Mr our PM, Mr Panama papers. Although I do TotalBull was in it with Neville Wran, proving that politics is put aside in the quest to make money ( rip off Tax payers).
