20mm today, looks like Townsville will do ok out of this event and they need it. Got home at 2100 hours tonight, not bad considering I am usually home by 1730....

Explosive device found on the hwy near Mt Sheridan pogo, dunno how it got there, apparently they dug a hole there and blew it up.

We saw four different cassowary there over a couple of weeks, real shame people keep smashing into them.

That bomb thing was a true mongrel - what a waste of an afternoon.

People hitting Casso's, they seriously must drive around with eyes shut, the birds move quite slowly, seem easy enough to see

Showers continue but the real rain wont be here ........

No idea. Don't think so. I think the storm had just about passed, but not quite. Substation looked pretty ordinary, no-one around when I drove past at 6.30am.

Friend said Chillagoe got 6mm so far, and still raining.
Glad I'm not pushing a wheelbarrow thru the mud.
They decided to race in the opposite direction this year, for various reasons...

52mm here..Townsville's copping a serious drenching..how good is that..

Wandjina and Ron...the main problem with the big chooks is that people don't slow down even when they see them on the side of the road..they have no road sense and will eat squished road kill so they will often just walk into traffic.....most of the deaths would not happen if drivers just slowed down as they go past so they had time to react according to the birds movements....the world is in too much of a hurry...

Good luck with the wheelbarrow race 28..!

Quite a chilly 19c here ATM..

11mm for me.

Nice to see Townsville and surrounds finally getting some decent rain. Nowhere near enough for their dam, but at least it's something.

Looks like we may get the dregs of this system this afternoon as it pushes off the coast.

21c here Scott, jumper weather lol

thanks for the kind words re our rain guys, sorry you guys missed out on some decent totals up there. thankfully our water supply has risen from 16% to 20% with a bit more runoff expected. will give us a bit more water to hopefully get thru to next wet season.

Always got you in mind, Mick10, we're all FNQ and feel just as remote from the powers that be in the southeast. It's all so varied, from you, dry, Scott/Tully slopping in cold mud, Cairns fairly even and Daintree slopping also.

Not a lot of rain here, just that two days ago 44mm from constant drizzle, 15mm to yesterday from similar and about 10mm to today. So while we're ready to resume outside chores, you're wishing it would continue for RR dam...

That extra 4% could make all the difference in the next 5 months Mick.
I should go up at least another 1% with the runoff too. It was good to see TSV got a much needed drink.
