Hello Folks:
Here's one of a number of videos to do with the record, historic & widespread flooding in Southern Missouri over the past few days. The scenes are awful to view.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Pz0ZnRMkA0

P.S.: Hwy AP--Missouri is one of the few US states that give their County Highways Letter (instead of number) designations.

For the week of Apr. 30-May 6: Mena's Avg. Max.: 74.4F/23.5C; Avg. Min.: 51.7F/10.9C

This past week featured a mix of warm & cool temperatures with continued thundershower activity. Rain was courtesy of passage (on 30th & 3rd) of a couple Pacific cold fronts. Very windy as the Thundershower/Thunderstorm cells hit just after 8:45AM on the 3rd--I had 2"/50.8mm rain in less than 2 hours, with a brief time of pea-sized hail & several close & loud lightning strikes. Afternoon maximums were very damp & chilly on 30th & 3rd as well. Otherwise the drier post-frontal air produced a few days of good daily temperature spreads.
Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 30th (Daytime Max. of 59F/15C near 3PM); Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-11:10PM-listed for the 3rd (Daytime Max. of 63F/17.2C at 6:23AM sunrise, as temperature slowly fell all day).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued warmth (tops 80F+/26.6C) with a slight cool-down & more thundershower chances near the weekend.

Hello Petros & All:

Here's previous weeks' weather for Mena, Arkansas:

DATE.....HIGH.......LOW........RAIN
May...7..83F/28.3C..55F/12.7C..---
........8..82F/27.7C..56F/13.3C..---

......12..70F/21.1C..58F/14.4C..0.50"/12.7mm
......13..77F/25C....51F/10.5C..---

For the week of May 7-13: Mena's Avg. Max.: 75.8F/24.3C; Avg. Min.: 54.0F/12.2C

Another mostly sunny, but humid-feeling week, with a good raindump. Thundershowers were courtesy of a Pacific cold front; which had a fairly extensive rain shield ahead of the actual cold front. The rain was very early AM on the 12th and a further light amount of rain around 3PM as the back circulation of the precipitation (around Low-Pressure; counterclockwise) passed through my area (vortex of Low-Pressure tracked not far North of my area). Otherwise, a great week for just about any outdoor activity.
Overall Low-11:35PM-listed for the 11th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for similar temperatures (mornings of ~60F/15.5C and afternoons around 80F+/26.6C+) with good thundershower chances, beginning midweek.

@ Petros (& ALL): Glad that you're getting enjoyment from this thread; I really enjoy compiling the numbers ("number-crunching").
Yesterday (Sunday) was the Mothers' Day holiday here in the US. Blessings MUCH To ALL The Wonderful Mom's Out There.

Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, Arkansas:

.......20..74F/23.3C..60F/15.5C..1.15"/29.2mm

For the week of May 14-20: Mena's Avg. Max.: 77.4F/25.2C; Avg. Min.: 56.2F/13.4C

This past week featured pleasant--if not a bit humid--conditions, with thundershowers at weeks' end. The passage (early AM on the 20th) of a Pacific cold front brought the wetness--as is sometimes the case, the thundershower line to our North moved much quicker than the part of the line did in my area (as parts of NW Arkansas had several hours of rain, before my area did).
Overall Low-11:33PM-listed for the 20th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for a bit cooler temperatures early-week, followed by warmer conditions. Thundershowers are expected early-week & late-week as well.

Here's another Very Interesting video: This is the cloud loops & names of the storms in the Atlantic basin for 2011. Vid starts at June 1st & runs through November 30th (Hurricane season here in the NH); numbers in top right are the numbers of the months during the time-lapse.

For the week of May 21-27: Mena's Avg. Max.: 79.1F/26.1C; Avg. Min.: 58.2F/14.5C

This past week--while rainless--featured a good mix of conditions. A dry Pacific cold front (passage on the 24th), gave a coolish & cloudy day (cool WNW winds) on the 24th and a couple days of lower humidity levels on the 24th & 25th. the S winds and humidity returned in a big way (ahead of a stronger Pacific cold front--passage early AM on the 28th) for the last couple days of the week. The Heat Indexes at Mena Airport (Intermountain Municipal Airport) on the afternoons of the 26th & 27th were in excess of 100F+/38C+, and it really felt like it as well (if the Heat Indexes are this high in May; it makes me wonder what this Summer will be like!)
Forecast for upcoming week calls for good thundershower chances for Monday & also for mid-week and onward, with continued warm & muggy conditions.

Today (Monday) is the (observed) Memorial Day holiday in the US (Memorial Day itself is actually Tuesday); which is the unofficial start of the Summer/Vacation Season here in the US.

Here's another very good video: It's the particulars & cloud loops of the storms in the Atlantic Basin for the 2012 season (the background music is not to my liking, so some may want to watch the vid with sound muted); Please see:
