Reached a top of 23.3C here in Belgrave yesterday. Certainly felt warm and humid, but it was only during the two brief bursts of sunshine we had (late-morning and early-afternoon).

Otherwise, it's been coolish, cloudy, wet and at times windy too! For the most part, temperatures were in the mid/high-teens. The rain cleared in the morning, and then resumed mid-afternoon. It's been mostly light though, but it all adds up! Collected another 2.1mm since 9am. smile

No heavy rain or thunderstorm action sadly. frown

Currently around 17C.

very pleased to see most areas getting good rain. We have had 15mm rain more than forecast and very welcome. The country around looks great but we did need this rain.

Such wind free months April & May, cooler weather, mid to high teens - BEST THERE IS !!!

Touch of snow on Mt Wellington this AM, would have been chilly there o/night, have to get in an over-night wander before track closures later this month.

The big highs letting the odd southerly chill thru' P, grass still growing here, hasn't gone to Winter growth rates yet, not far away though.

Sorry for the lack of daily postings on my part guys! Been very busy lately and my work commitments (now in Box Hill instead of Boronia) have left me exhausted in the evenings, but I'm still determined to post as often as possible. Good thing I have a smartphone with Internet access! smile

Here's my report for the first few days of May 2017. Observations are still from my home here in Belgrave, unless otherwise stated. Please note that my rain gauge is out of action atm until further notice, so no rainfall figures are currently available unfortunately. frown

Monday May 1st 2017

Low: 11.8C High: 20.4C

I missed any sunny weather that day as I was cooped up indoors at work for most of the day, but it was horribly overcast during both the morning and evening commutes, with rain arriving just I was leaving Box Hill after 5pm.

A cold, rainy night followed after I reached home.

Tuesday May 2nd 2017

Low: 8.1C High: 16.9C

Following the frontal rainband overnight, it dawned mostly sunny (with low cloud brushing against the ridge of the Dandenong Ranges). Showers swept into the Melbourne metropolitan area as the day progressed, with the rain quite heavy at times, but thankfully they cleared off just after sunset as I was returning home from work.

Wednesday May 3rd 2017

Low: 4.2C High: 18.0C

A reality check this morning, a very cold reminder that winter is closing in fast! It was my first morning below 5C since October 28th last year, when we dipped to 3.8C. eek

It was a touch warmer around 7:30am when I left home for work, but still only around 5C. Mostly sunny in Belgrave though, minus light mist and of course smoke from people's heaters/fireplaces and from Puffing Billy.

During the train ride towards the City, it was very foggy in Boronia and Bayswater, and again in Ringwood. Nice! grin

I snapped this pic from my smartphone in Ringwood this morning, taken approximately 8:20am:

The rest of the commute to Box Hill was under partly cloudy skies. Fog was drifting slowly westwards to the north (along a line from about Ringwood North to Doncaster). The wind had a sharp chill as I was walking from the train station to work, so I was glad to get inside!

When I re-emerged from work after 5pm and headed home it was mostly cloudy yet again.

Back home and the temperature's dropping sharply, currently around 7C. Going for a low of 3C at nearby Scoresby tonight! eek

My report for yesterday from here in Belgrave:

Low: 6.2C, High: 20.0C

Following another chilly morning, it was a mild, mostly sunny Wednesday. I noted some patchy fog (and a few hot air balloons) in the Yarra Valley while in Ringwood on the train to work. High cloud ahead of the currently weakening cold front moved in from the west as I was heading home in Box Hill around sunset. smile

As for today...

Low: 6.8C, High: 18.6C

Another mild, mostly sunny day, although with extensive high cloud, which made for a nice sunrise (and was tinged pink at sunset while heading home from work). smile

Plenty of smoke haze during the day, and patchy fog this morning. Also foggy around the Narre Warren/Endeavour Hills/Dandenong area this evening!

Currently around 7C.

A beautiful full moon last night, and again tonight! smile

Calm & 17C enroute Sale today round 1230hrs and warmer 18C on return three hours later.

My posts for the weekend from here in Belgrave, which wasn't the best for my sinus! frown

Yesterday it ranged from 7.0C to 18.7C. Mostly cloudy, hazy, and chilly, but the Sun was very pleasant when it was out! smile

As for today...

Overnight low of 6.0C, reached a top of 17.0C. A yucky, hazy, mostly cloudy day, but with a few sunny breaks.

Chilly, but alright for being down in Dandenong this morning, and out on a Mother's Day outing with the family to Gembrook and later to Yarra Junction in the Upper Yarra Valley. smile

Currently around 10C.

Overnight low of 8.1C, reached a mild top of 18.0C here in Belgrave today. Currently around 9C.

Very foggy weather this morning almost the whole way from home to work in Box Hill; the fog was quite thick at times, and I only saw blue sky and sunshine once! crazy

According to my family, the fog didn't lift here at home until around lunchtime, but even then it was a heavy low cloud that lasted until mid-afternoon. My family got to enjoy some sunshine before the clouds returned towards sunset.

Pity I was stuck indoors at work, but I did see it was sunny outside around lunchtime. smile
