Gonna be a cold night me thinks.
Already 13.7 here, which is the coldest it has been so far this autumn at this time of day. Clear, calm conditions obviously responsible.

For you? Yeh, probably.

I'm guessing 5 or 6 tonight for me and a little less further west at places like Richmond. Forecast for Richmond is 4.
I'm almost 200 metres asl so always a few degrees warmer for minimums during the winter.

Yeah we are 3kms from Bellambi point...and about three climate zones LOL

seems odd to have a weather station right out near the ocean

What's odd about it ? A mix of stations is ok. Sydney needs one on the Northern suburbs. Terry Hills is a bit high vis a vis the coast and bushy which blocks a sea breeze

Just scraped double figures here in Monash (Southern Canberra) a max of 10.2C which is more like a max we get in July
who said winter wasn't coming?

Cheers Teddy

It will be cold at my place, below 5C if the dew point co-operates.

Eddy- Bowral is probably about an hour to the closest beach.
It's a great place but the people can be little stuck up. Yep 4 season climate and incredible summer variability. Last summer I spent a lot of time up there and there would be days up to 37 or 38C at 4pm (quite a few 35+ days actually) and then 16C or something with drizzle by the evening and a freezing easterly wind.

We have one in Newcastle, Nobby's Head. Doesn't give a decent representation of what the weather is really like in the suburbs.

Thanks Teddy, was it breezy down there today?

No mix of stations in Wollongong. One beside the ocea.. The next 40kms south and way inland
IMO somewhere like the Uni should be a AWS

Not really windy just a real nip in the air, I guess the weather is preparing us for the freeze next week.
A string of 12C maximums and I see a -3C in the forecast, the seasons are a changin.. of course BOM will change it by the time next Wednesday rolls by
but it gives one a rough idea eh?
BTW Nothing wrong with Bowral great place to visit..

LOL true. Mittagong is okay, probably in the middle of bogan and stuck up. Hill Top takes top spot for bogans though. poke

The BOM outlook is for a warm, dry Winter: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/outlooks/#/overview/summary

ALthough, as I recall, they forecast a warm, dry March.
