I'm betting it's pretty eerie out there at that time? At least you got a buzz from the snow. Hope you had a thermos full of your favourite bevvie.

You headed back there on Wednesday?

I was in a shirt and shorts lol, I literally wait all year for the cold, I am definitely not wrapping up, I also had a nice cold iced mocha brought to you by DARE!

I doubt it, the event is a fizzer, unless the milky way is as clear as it was last night for photos I will not be heading back up there.

Are you going up on Wednesday? I reckon Mt Trickett could be the best spot at this stage. smile

Today was awesome. Here I was thinking it would be awful and windy but it was so nice. A little fresh at 17 degrees for a max but hey we are a few days from winter!! Wednesday will be pretty crap through unless it's sunny.

Yeah it's great I'm hoping to get a day or two skiing this winter.

Wednesday is looking seriously cold here. Forecast is 17C but I can't see it getting higher than 15C. I'm going for a max of 14.

Coldest max i remember for Wollongong was around this time of year was a tad over 11 (at the Uni) was around the time of state of Origin . Again SE winds cloud and a cold pool. Was circa 1992 to 94

I think it is Totals-Totals, but what does that mean?

300hpa winds - ie steering winds. Note how fast they hook.
Then with total totals. Its an index used to assess storm strength.
Its a formula of temperature vertical and dew point horizontally. Across 850hpa and 500hpa.

Blizz (blackheath) used to use them for forecasting on the BM's

<44 Convection not likely
44-50 Likely thunderstorms
51-52 Isolated severe storms
53-56 Widely scattered severe
>56 Scattered severe storms

In my experience high Tot tot areas have the potential to pull down snow to lowwer levels . I'll wait and see the soundings , but i've got a feeling the low is stacked quite violently.

Yep, it's considered a measure of instability
