How is it going to snow if there is no rain? The only rain available will be between 1300 and 1600 hours.

Donzah - thank you for your answer and explanation.

So Sydney and the Blue Mountains having 50+ on Wednesday morning could be very interesting.

EDIT: temps at many Sydney stations now down to single figures, even OH down to 12.4. Tomorrow will likely be the coldest morning since August.

Bingo. Might get cold but no moisture.

Instability , like thunderstorms aren't usually shown in precip models.

Definitely going for our coldest night of the year tonight, and likely frost further up the valley.
Probably will see the first ice/ frost signal on the car early tomorrow morning, driving through Greta and Branxton the most likely scenario.

Snow while there is instability is always good. It means you can get snow to lower levels than you normally would.

Won't get frost here, waaay too windy in this area. Very blustery indeed.

Most of the instability is offshore.
GFS is showing plenty of cloud over the course of the day, so the potential is there.

It will be my coldest night of the year coming up, already 6.7c, not saying I will get a frost, but I reckon I wont have to travel far to see one!!
