Best result for Townville, you don't mind getting cold for a 100mm or so. Surprisingly Ross river dam catchment area is bigger than Tinaroo approx 750km2 vs 545 km2.

Challenging day in Mareeba yesterday with the light rain creating ankle deep mud in places and flanno on until lunchtime.

6.6mm to finish of here making a total of 16.4mm for this 'event' in this neck of the woods.

decent HF, didn't bother to check this morning lol.

Any guesses on a cold spell this year? Seems like a below average month temperature wise is a distant memory.

Lovely day today but what is the story with these tradewinds....the highs just keep pushing through without a break in between...geez it would suck being a pro fisherman..

Yes Scott. I was up at the beach yesterday and it was pretty choppy, but a great day none the less.

Nothing to report except that little bit of rain last week. I missed it here, but it was lovely in Cairns.

Mornings cooler again, after having warmed up for a bit.
My weather station doesn't work any more so no idea what the outside temp is. House stays warm and still 27-29 degrees at 9pm.
Biting insects settled down a bit. Frogs hanging out on the decks, and geckos multiplying.
Ants in my yard are building volcanos, and multi-entry mounds. Maybe they're just spring cleaning.

Snowflake.
Similar to poinsettia.
Look great together.

Pretty certain you can do cuttings.
We tried transplanting one from a inappropriate location. Impossible with roots still in the ground. Never got rid of it.
Think very carefully where you want to plant it.

They look spectacular beside deep red double poinsettias.

So does it spread 28? Dont want that. Already have some previously introduced plants really hard to get rid of.

No it doesn't spread. It will be like poinsettias.

Trying to pretty up the garden a bit are you Ron..decent time for planting now...

HF, so average rainfall for winter for us..looks like Mackeral season might be a bust with the wind from these dominant highs ..I hope it changes in the next few weeks..

28 ..you just need to use a bit better tactics..chainsaw off at ground level and paint a bit of roundup on the stump..

Nah plant was already there pogo, just wondered as it is flowering. I've pulled out more than I've put in lol.
Wind has been pretty consistent so far this dry, probably need to get the sprinkler organised pretty soon. Just need a decent cold spell to bring on the lychees this year.

Mmmm....sore point. In my attempt to avoid chemicals, especially since the galahs used to feed on the few weeds I had, I now have a yard full of them. 😯

A 70% chance of 1mm-5mm isn't really serious rain HF.
Still, if it turns up it could be more I suppose. The great models may be wrong in the opposite way than usual.

Just got back from Vietnam and does not look like I missed much. Nice to see that Townsville had a decent drop though, they need it more than us.
Just under 17mm in the gauge over the 3 weeks. There is still a little green about but definitely a lot browner than when I left.
