Unfortunately with now total automation and zero human involvement, such minor accuracies now go by the board.

There's still many manual rainfall sites across the country.
They have decreased a lot though.

Right on cue, our first below freezing morning should take place on the first day of winter. Maybe before? Cooler days and nights ahead!

Yet another chance of thick fog in sheltered parts of our region by early Sunday morning ahead of the next change.

Some patchy precip also likely developing mainly inland as per below... some instability is present but fairly weak:

Glorious weather at present. Was perfect for our big fire pit night last night , well done ken for pressing all the right buttons to make that happen. You can let it rain now.

I know I'm in CQ not SE Qld but normally by now we don't have humidity of 90 percent in the morning frown

I can't speak for CQ but here in SE QLD/NE NSW, fogs (and associated humidity above 90% by early morning) become more common in late autumn/winter.

And you're welcome Big T. Not much rainfall on the horizon though.

Maybe it is typical just seems like the daytimes here the humidity won't drop below 65 percent. Dew point won't drop below 18 deg and we're stuck in a permanent pattern of SE winds.

I didn't expect to see that band of showers coming in from the west! Fingers crossed it makes it to the coast.

3.0mm here from a period of late morning rain. Temps were a couple of degrees cooler than forecast on the northern MNC and far southern NR thanks to cloud lingering until mid-afternoon (Grafton Airport was the coldest, only managing to reach 19.0ºC today and didn't get past 17ºC until after 2pm!).

Snapped this pic over the weekend while the kids where picking some veggies from the garden.

No rain from it, but at least it looked nice. smile

After a few showers around and an almost spring-like feel to the day yesterday, today the change begins. Much cooler SW winds have arrived. A few cooler days and nights ahead.

It looks like the SOI might go positive for May and there and there appears to be a lot of above average ocean from Darwin around into the Coral sea. Apart from what is going on out in the Pacific with enso I am wondering if we will get a genuine good rain event that will actually give rain to those areas that need it and in time. The current pattern seems to pulling out everything in it's bag of tricks to sabotage any possibility of a rain event/signal for the SE & southern inland of QLD. I think it could be a very harsh winter if nothing happens.
Regards
