Beautiful fog pictures Skysthelimit.

Here is a view of the Hawkesbury River North of Sydney yesterday on a rather damp Winter's day:

Yeah nice pics Steve and STL.

Some photos a Southern Tablelands road drive I did yesterday:

Beautiful views just outside of Laggan.

Looking south between Crookwell and Gunning towards the lower country.

A little creek on the north side of Gunning.

Looking towards Cullerin Range just outside of Gunning.

Near Breadalbane, looking east towards Goulburn.

Lovely shots Reilly smile

I especially like the creek - it looks like a lovely little spot for yabbies in the summer smile

Very similar feel to around the Central Tablelands. smile

Thanks Dave, the tablelands are so nice. Makes me want to live out in the country!!

There's actually a free campground there on that creek but two day limit. I would seriously consider camping there one day.

Thanks for sharing Steve, Wave Rider and Eddy. Three more from me. Sometimes I like a sky and I go looking for a scene to enhance it as in pic 1 overlooking Gladstone. The other 2 are of fog near Jamestown.

Thanks Dave, Ronfishes, young Werner, Eddy and Wave Rider. Like the way you capture the hues in the skies Eddy. They can certainly add to a picture smile
Things are looking grim for the farmers here in SA unless things improve. Adelaide has just recorded its second driest June rainfall on record. We scored 10mm here a couple of days back but we need a real soaking. At least it showed it can rain. These pics taken from the Laura to Beetaloo Valley road.

Went down to the central coast this week, which is where the first shot was taken. Its not as magic as Eddy's coastal shots, but its a beautiful area down there.

Yesterday I also saw some fallstreak holes, which are reasonably rare I think

My wife is from North Entrance.

I lived there for several years as well, much of my family live or lived there too. We visit a few times a year.

I have a weird brain that remembers specific things/shapes for decades and I can very often place things on little info. Shame I can't make money out of it smile Useless at everything else smile

I totally agree with Dave, it would look so good on a wall!! smile

PS: Just realised that we can't see any of STL or Warren's pics any more. frown That is just disgraceful what Photobucket have done. I'm just thankful I never used it but we have literally lost years of photos now. frown

I'll join the chorus Eddy and compliment you on a lovely pic. You can always tell a good pic by the amount of time you spend looking at it smile

Regarding Photobucket. I agree Wave Rider its disgraceful and I think I'm in a state of shock. I don't have that sort of money laying around. Don't know what to do now. Count my losses and try a new start elsewhere. Pity they didn't give us a months grace to retrieve our photos first! frown

Thanks STL

As for photobucket I stopped using it a couple of years ago, I was losing too much detail in my images, photos were coming out flat looking and not sharp at all, I started using Flickr and haven't looked backed.
Anyhow I probably lost about 500 photos, fortunately for me I have them somewhere on an old computer!!

They quietly introduced a $399 per year charge on third party hosting as of the 20th June, which is why you see the notices on Eddy's and STL's signatures.

Thank you Eddie for your locality's Winter images. Winter where you are looks glorious ... as opposed to being here.

I'm still waiting for my camera to thaw out before I post.

Cheers Mate.

Warren.

PS, It snowed a few days ago on the high ranges of the ACT and the snow is still there. It looks really cool.

Nice to hear from you Wassa. I was beginning to wonder what had happened to you. I hope you can get out in the elements again soon. I wish we'd get some snow. Its the one subject that continues to elude my camera and I.
Thanks Eddy for your pictures. You've been somewhat of a lone hand on this thread of late.
My first pic is of something I spotted a fortnight or so ago. Looking straight up I saw whist appeared to be an upside down rainbow. In the picture the sun is actually below the 'arc' unlike a halo. I had intended to quiz everyone to see if anyone could tell me what it was exactly but then I watched a tv documentary and they covered , amongst other things, CIRCUMZENITHAL ARCs, which is what this is of course. Now we're all in the know.
The second pic is a scene taken from the dry weather road which leads into our neighbouring town of Georgetown. I know the person who lives there is a regular reader of the forums so I thought he might get a surprise when he sees it smile

Eddy, please enjoy a few of my Winter images before Spring arrives.

I joined Flickr yesterday, after not appreciating Photobucket ripping-off and ransoming members' images.

The average temp this season has been 1.6C below average, in the SE of NSW which might account for the unusually large flocks of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos wintering in the Yass Valley rather than enduring Winter on the Monaro as they usually do.

My long-time friend Reg, looking sleek and cool, during last Autumn when it was unseasonably warm and Reg lofting his down this Winter.

Mother Nature and I jousted this month. She teased me with beautifully mild weather, while I prepared the ground to build a deck. Then, when I thought I was enjoying her company, and her mine, She did here worst.

Overnight temps of -7.0C, -8.6C and -11.0C amongst others. Each morning I'd sweep the frost off.

Then when I'd almost finished sweeping the frost off, it was reforming. So, I would then start again.

The morning of the -8.6C there was no sweeping.

On the nights that it rained, when the rain stopped, I swapped sweeping for ice skating.

Haven't posted anything in ages so thought I'd chuck this up. Too many nice photographs to mention, that very first image Eddy is a beauty, incredible 3D look to that cloud.

Rather envious of the snow pics, hasn't been the most interesting winter here.

Guys and Gals, Winter looks most beautiful in your necks of the bush and your photography equally amazing.

Cold Front, on Sunday 27th of August, it was cold. You would have loved it. You know the old cliche, several seasons in a day? ... well on Sunday it wasn't. It was the depth of winter. The day had frost, sheets of ice, rain, hail, sleet and it also snowed. All enhanced by a bitter wind straight off the Alps.

At the Canberra Airport the minimum reading overnight on the 27th was (IIRC) -1.5C. I'm guessing the heat from the city kept Canberra Airport warm.

Some shots from Sunday 27th ... from the deck of death.

My outside thermometer stopped working on Sunday ... it died from hypothermia.
