What a pain in the backside system, wish those rain cells would move 50k's to the west a bit. Had nuthing but crappy cloud cover & dripping all day.

115mm to date here at Bracken Ridge. Emptied approximately 3 liters from a trap pan I have installed in the ceiling until we can work out exactly where or more importantly, how the water is working its way in. Roofs are a hard thing to work on. Loved the early days when roofs were simple and 25+ with just a straight hip or gable either end.

Wynnum Nth 24 hour rain 23.6mm. Now 83.6mm for the event which is also the monthly total and now exceeding the 75.6mm local June average.

Also the above average overnight temps associated with the rain has lifted the previously negative average temp anomaly for June up to zero.

Event total (including the slight shower activity over the 6th to 8th, when at that stage, the coastal trough and main focus of the rain was still southwards of here):
6th - 1.0mm
7th - 3.8mm
8th - 7.8mm
9th - 52.2mm
10th - 57.4mm
11th - 25.2mm
12th - 36.0mm
13th - 2.2mm
14th - 4.2mm
TOTAL - 189.8mm

June average exceeded during the event. It continues the pattern of regular and good rain so far this year locally.

We finished up with 221mm here (over 2 times the June average), with today also looking decidedly dull. During the event the minimum temps were 4.6 degrees above average, taking the monthly average minimums to equal warmest on record so far.

Can anyone offer an explanation for the cloud formation on current Himawari sat image to SW of Bris? Is it due to fairly deep convection with shearing by STJ? Cheers

Cant wait for spring already! One of those low pressure bombs in the Tasman generated a wave with enough power to dislocate my shoulder out in the surf last week and I nearly drowned.Just lookin forward to spring sunshine now and the thundery outbreaks that get more and more frequent.
