And Knot that's what like about this forum!! We go off topic when there's no weather rather than just going quiet.
Not in the gorge though.

Mate, if you're happy to go Galston way, it's a really nice drive and you'll see some lovely autumn foliage, lovely acreages and the gorge is a nice drive anyway. Just take it slowly.
What day are you planning on making this trip? The traffic can be as bad, if not worse, on weekends in certain parts. True!

It'll be on a weekday, so I figure there will likely be heaps of trucks on PHR and Sunday drivers won't be a problem on Galston Rd I guess.

What's the gorge bit you added in my quote post mean?

Was a rather nice sunset this arvo, but I was stuck at work.

Thanks for that chart SH.

Should we get this Thread's name and dates changed for this up coming event?

My car sensor is under the passenger side mirror. Trouble is, it picks up a lot of heat from the road.

Behind the front grill is fairly common I believe.

Currently -3 and snowing here in Charlotte Pass. Tucking away all my garden equipment and tools away for the winter. Bought this storm shed for my tools and loving it! Keep warm everyone!

There is an alternative to Pennant Hills Road between Hornsby and Pennant Hills: https://goo.gl/maps/eKuB3VTj9rx . That way you're only on Pennant Hills Rd for about 3.6km. You may not be familiar with that route, though. Much of it follows the railway line, but some doesn't. There are two dog legs (first over the rail line at Clarke Road at Hornsby, second at Duffy Avenue at Thornleigh) and a left turn in between them.

Wave Rider, here is another route via Castle Hill that avoids Pennant Hills Road entirely: https://goo.gl/maps/8dd6ejZbHUH2
