Lol,Scott, where was your staffy - mine's a good foot warmer and both of us buried under a feather quilt.

Oh for a reverse cycle a/c, but only just getting the battery bank equalised - been a long haul on that setting and since partner left, have turned off the freezer.

A very chilly 6.8c here this morning. No wonder I didn't want to get out of bed. Could get cold enough for a light frost tomorrow morning.

I think the staffy was the reason why I was so cold Dormant..she was hogging all the blankets..a feather quilt sounds fantastic though..

Coolish alright. Dry and cool, great for those with performance cars lol (nice dense air) and for those enjoy the coolish side of climate. Being from SEQ originally, its mighty warm even on these cool nights smile

Who remembers those 'space blankets' from the 60's.
Bright red one side and like silver foil the other. very thin too. You could feel the warmth being reflected back and warming you in minutes.
One of them between the sheet and the doona, silver side down, would have to work methinks.

Where do you buy a 1960's blanket in 2017?

They still have them in large first aid kits to help with treating shock

Where do you buy a 1960's blanket in 2017?

I found plenty of listings on camping store websites,- also hiking/treking type stores.

Not cheap though, at $38. Cheap, junky 'fit in your top pocket' stuff is 4 for $3.99 on Ebay.

I found recently two tan/brown with grey stripe wool blankets each with a military label marked Norwellan 1964 and Warrnambool 1965 respectively and an arrow in an opshop but of course they're not space blankets but military, I presume.

Needless to say I'm not using them tonight, having gone straight to a fluffy doona...

There are many reasons some of us leave for southerly climes but some of us can't leave anymore, much too acclimated, the benefits much outweighing the perceived disadvantages.
