Ok guys I'll get this very basic period
Of weather underway.(I'm clutching at straws here)

We have a weak ish cold front due tonight
With maybe a few mm of wet weather??

Another weak front sun/ mon period.

Then for the rest of next week there is more
Possobilities of further fronts moving through.

Let's hope some of these fronts are
Interesting enough to spark a little
More chat activity lol

Been a lean month weather wise that's for sure!

Cold frontal is looming, so time pattern change give SE Australia cold windy showers on and off and SW WA is heading for strong Antarctic blast by 3rd July.

We need nice showers or windy overnight to be bit warmer than frost mornings.

Back online after U/s landline since last Monday 19/6, had 0.5mm during the week and 1.5mm yesterday morning.

Small patches of snow visible on Mt Wellington last couple of mornings.

Some breeze about last few days after nearly three months of magnificent calm mild weather.

Good to see you back Samboz. NBN will solve every thing, just like that pixilated TV we were told was just what we needed!! smile

Spent the arvo at Royal Maffra, beanie on, persistent NW'ly - 14.5C max, Baro eased back to 1012 hPa from 1015 last night, hope we might pick up a sprinkle from tonights passing front over Tassie.

Cold and some heavy showers around last night.
Overnight low of 6c and I'll check the Guage
Later this arvo, could be good for 5-10mm
Looking at how wet it was this morning.

Gfs looking good for quiet a cold blast
This Thursday, with the 528 line
Pushing into Gippsland. But no other
Model supporting gfs at this stage.

Unusual for us last 16 days we had 14 days nearly total fog day and night the last 2 days very little fog at night but cloudy and little SUN. No frost for the 16 days the plus has been 4.5mm fog in rain gauge. Actual rain for June is 10.5mm.Our country still looks really good.

That intrigues me - do you mean that there has been continuous fog at ground level (formally defined as visibility less than 1km), or has it sometimes lifted into low cloud? Either way, an event of that type lasting as long as two weeks would be extremely unusual - possibly unprecedented - in Australia, although it's fairly common in late autumn and winter in places like alpine valleys in Europe (e.g. lowland Switzerland).

Unfortunately, there haven't been any observations from Corryong for the last week - would be interesting to know what the temperatures are doing. An indication of what they might be doing comes from Khancoban, where maximum temperatures are running about 1 degree below normal for the month (compared to 1-2 above at most other site in inland SE Australia).

Blair In the past we do get simular weather not often so long. A lot of the days the fog was ground level and very lucky to see 1km.It didn't lift to low cloud but did recede back to the foothills odd days. It was very cold we had two 7C and one 5C days last week. Today was 7C and could see about 2-3 KM. And the sun did break through a couple of times for about1/2 hour over that time. We didn't get frosts did see a little ice on rubbish bin one day.

I think the climate around Corryong and Khancoban is a fascinating one. Gets much colder winter temperatures than the elevation may suggest and summers are very hot.

Amazing CA! frown

Played golf in unusually dry and dead calm conditions for this time of year today, had some sunny breaks during the arvo taking us to 15C at one stage.

Not much better to the east of you CA. We've "Officially' had 2.2 mm. But that's made up of 11 days of 0.2mm each day. No idea how that happens? Dew running down the inside of the rain gauge? There has been no "real" rain until last Sunday. Unofficially I've measured 1 mm which fell Sunday just past but nothing official on the AWS. Our driest June on record is 2.6 mm so I think thats broken now unless something remarkable happens with the next change.

We are experiencing the odd shower passing through here now, no wind with them, unlikely to make 1mm in total frown

My stats for this event from here in Belgrave, from Friday June 23rd 2017 until now:

Friday June 23rd
Min: 8.4C Max: 16.1C Rain: 0mm

Saturday June 24th
Min: 6.1C Max: 13.0C Rain: 6.3mm

Sunday June 25th
Min: 7.4C Max: 13.3C Rain: 2.1mm

Monday June 26th
Min: 7.5C Max: 11.0C Rain: 1.1mm

Tuesday June 27th
Min: 5.0C Max: 11.9C Rain: 2.1mm

Wednesday June 28th
Min: 8.2C Max: 15.7C Rain: 0mm

Thursday June 29th (today)
Min: 8.9C Max: 12.3C Rain: 0mm

Nice to have had some more winter rainfall! Something to smile about, given how dry and fairly boring it's been lately. Not too happy about the cold air and lack of sunshine, but thankfully with my work commitments I'm stuck indoors much of the time. smile

My train home from Box Hill to Belgrave was delayed by 10 minutes this evening because of heavy rainfall. The cold front swept in late-afternoon; it was mostly cloudy throughout the day but with sunny breaks, until the rain arrived after 3:30pm.

Thankfully, the worst of the weather had cleared off by the time I finished my shift at 5:30pm. smile

Back home, we collected 5.3mm. My family reported that the rain was indeed quite heavy at times!

Currently around 6C.

I'm definitely going to start posting on a daily basis from now on, like I used to do. Sorry I've been so busy. smile

Hope a wet, stormy winter lies ahead!! grin
