Morning all,

Very cold this morning at home, down to a chilly -4.8C! With a heavy frost about the paddocks, will have to look back through the stats but think that's the coldest it's been in the past year or so! smile

Late evening all, what a great frosty morning in Lenah Valley very white but it didn't worry the wallabies grazing in the paddock.
Very frosty morning at work as well with all the small ponds frozen over . Once the sun came out it was a glorious day of sunshine and around 12 c at Glenorchy. The cloud and mist dropped down this morning straight from this side of the mountain and followed the valley between here and New Town creating it's own Bridgewater Jerry effect. And awesome sight of mist and cloud flowing 100 meters above the ground , what a day:)

Evening all,

Been a wet, windy and cool day down in the Southeast, spent most of the day down at Huonville where it rained for a solid part of the afternoon, managed 0.6mm at home.. more wind than anything really, gusts reached 70 km/h during the arvo and the temp topped out at 15.4C.

Seem's like the wind might drop out and make for a cold morning, btw turns out that the low temp (-4.8) the other morning was the lowest we've had in over two years, will have to see if we can top it this year with an even colder morning! grin

Currently: 8.1 with a bitter westerly at 36 km/h -gusts 52 km/h. smile

Evening all,

Had a min of 0.4 degrees the other day and that is about as cold as it gets here with frost! Only recorded a hand full of negative temps in frost over the last 10 years.

We had a heavy sleet shower with hundreds of snow flakes falling. Snow was very lightly settling with the large flakes at 360m up the hill.
Sleet in the rain at 120m in Kingston (Summerleas rd).
Temp has been down to 2.1 degrees. Now 2.3 degrees with frozen slush all over the car!

Very Light dusting of snow at home. Been down 1.2 degrees.
Up the hill at 360m the road is white. Just ran out of moisture.
But there is snow and that is all that matters! Currently 1.8 degrees and cooling. Went up to 2.7 degrees with the last snow shower. More of a freezing/frost set up now! Watch the roads.

Good reports, good to see some light snow to lowish levels - breaks the June boredom. Fine and frosty up this end low of -0.6.

Nice to here from you Tony!

Yes Boys, great to see snow at home again.
I believe the snow only settled because of the heavy frost on Thursday morning!
Up at Great Lake ATM, temp is -0.7 degree and 1.5cm of snow on the ground.
Happy birthday to me tomorrow with fresh snow forecast! Tree felling fires and the odd beer or two plus snow! This is my birthday present from my family!!! Very happy with that😊

Many Happy Snow Returns Stale Fish .

Hobart today around 13 c in this side of town with the odd icy shower , however the bigger downfalls and hail storms failed to show as usual. Well it's nice to see some cooler days but once again we are still seeing the Highs influence the Cold Fronts.
This can be seen being discussed in Climate Driver forum ATM , it looks like 13 c nearly everyday into the coming week for here. Very stable and nothing to get excited about with the real weather for the start of July being pushed away again by a High. After that it looks even worse at this stage with a massive High pressure belt out in the Indian Ocean set to reach by next Monday.
However it was nice to see some snow sitting on the higher parts of the Mountain today smile

Everything is coated with icing sugar!! (Drizzle snow)
Looks great -2.1 degrees overnight at Great Lake.
Not enough moisture overnight.
Eggs and bacon and coffee for breakfast, a true lake country breakfast!

Yeah, needed to be in the far south/south west to get a good drop. Not sure what the final min was, but was -1.3 when I left home. Most of the nights for the next 5 or 6 nights look set to be well below 0. Although GFS holds out some hope for a light low level dusting Thursday evening in the west and south.
