4.9 seems cool for there smile

Still 2 here, fog still about, once again other towns warmer than us currently due to our fog.

Sun showing signs of breaking through, then it will warm up.

No heaters on in our office this morning, it was only 5 inside when we got here. Slowly warming it up. smile

Don't know if Dave would do that even in -4.9!! laugh

No electric blankie here (don't have or really need one) but bedside heater was on before I went to sleep and I was rugged up anyway with trackies.

Seems to be a light SWer here as well Eddy, but the official obs say westerly.

Sydney is tracking to finish June a little warmer than average, especially nights and mornings. Including the forecast to the 30th, daily means are tracking about a degree above average:

Code:
Airport 10.1 to 18.2 (+1.4, +0.6, daily mean +1.0)
Bankstown 7.7 to 18.4 (+1.0, +0.6, +0.8)
Richmond 6.6 to 18.3 (+1.4, +0.3, +0.9)

Well, looks like the front at the end of the week has almost completely evaporated now. Looking very sub standard for middle of winter. I knew that ECL scenario wouldn't come off.

We will finish up about 2 degrees COLDER than average for NIGHTS. Being 1.5 (avg) vs -0.5 (approx actual).

For DAYS we will finish around 2 or 2.5 above average, 12.5 (avg) vs 15 (approx actual).

Drove past botany bay (brighton) at lunch. Was like glass. Honestly don't see that often.

I read someone mentioning the lack of a inland low and rainfall (as per the models) for inland NSW. That prog was always in unicorn fart land. The models have really struggled with that low over WA and how it progressed across the continent.

Looks like a Vanilla change Thursday. Bit more bullish on GFS this afternoon. The following week looks good on ensembles and the LWT charts. The DT charts are fluffing around the moisture a bit.

"Unicorn Fart Land" - Right, now there's a new one!!! grin

How cool we drop to overnight is going to largely depend on whether we have fog again or not. smile

Basically we are likely to be around -4 or -5 it seems.

Our last 5 mornings have been coolish

Thurs -3.9, Fri -2, Sat -1, Sun -3.8 & today -3.2

Bit of a run there smile

Right, Dave, so it looks like for daily mean temperatures, Bathurst has been close to averege.

Rainfall is a different story, with 100mm+ on the coast North from about Wollongong, rapidly dropping off as we go indland to mostly under 10mm West of the Divide. Basically all of the rain has come from 'Easterly' influences which are unable to penetrate the Sandstone Curtain. The rain originally forecast for late this week would have been the same. That has now virtually gone. Just as well, it would only have fallen where it was not needed.

Yep Steve - the 24 hour average is close to "average" smile

Just that the warmer days and colder nights than usual tend to balance each other out grin

Statistics will get ya every time grin

Very dry out here - if you don't like rain but do like sun - it's been a lovely month indeed grin (once the fog lifted) shocked

Yep looking like another cold night, 7.6c here at 8pm.

If that cloud arrives early in the morning could make for quite a coolish day.

Indeed Eddy Boy, it certainly could. High cloud arriving during a cold morning has in the past given us our coldest days.
I'm now 7.4 deg's at 9 pm. Fire is roaring!

Some nice cold temps already in Goulburn and Cooma, well and truly in to the negatives.
Meanwhile that cloud band has raced in to NSW and is already halfway across the state.

Perisher has already reached -9. Cooma -5.4 and Thredbo TS -7.2.
Tomorrow could be interesting.
