I wonder how low the polar vortex temperatures will go...

Ozone hole is a result of cold temperatures (scavenging effect of descending air), then for sure it will be bigger at the South Pole by spring.

Ta CA - by this do you mean that the "coldness" down there is less likely to be shared (by "slurping" up over us) over the next few weeks?

Overnight low of 11.0°C, reached a top of only 16.3°C here in Belgrave today. Breezy and mostly cloudy, with a few sunny breaks during the day, plus a few mostly light showers this evening; the rain not enough to ruin my tennis lesson thankfully. smile

Currently around 14°C.

several days this week that have claimed it will be sunny and still no ☀️ 😬 Thursday was supposed to be sunny ☀️ nothing, Friday was supposed to be sunny ☀️ nothing and it looks like no sun again 😬😆 the 48-hour forecast which generally posts the percentage of cloud cover seems to be right off recently 😬😳🤣

Anticyclonic gloom. It cleared here in the afternoon to provide a sunny period, and a 14.4C max.

Wonder what the morning temps will be up at Corawa where I'm heading for the next few days (thinking frost, frost & frost) wink

Overnight low of 7.8°C, reached a top of 15.5°C here in Belgrave today. Currently around 8°C. smile

Started out as a dank, dirty day - overcast and hazy! poke

But by midday, as my family and I were heading into the City for a friend's wedding, the clouds broke up and we were left with a mostly sunny afternoon! smile

Loving the look of Corryong's current forecast minimum for next Saturday, -3°C yay!! Hoping to see a hard-freeze or two during the Queen's Birthday weekend. smile

Oh how I love the variety of the Upper Murray's inland four-season climate, including its below-freezing winter nights and hot summer days that can occasionally soar to well over 40°C, and everything in-between from stunning autumn colours, blossoms and flowers in the spring, fog, frosts, floods, droughts, bushfires, severe thunderstorms, and the exceptionally rare snowfall haha! grin

Thought you hated bushfires. You were quick to judge me in my love of the heatwave back in Feb in the SA threads about the fact.

Remember you have a bad tendency to judge me and the other Victorian forum posters a lot as well Galaxyman. No further comment from me, but I'll leave you alone from now on. I just hope you'll leave me alone from now on as well! mad

Overnight low of 5.0°C, currently around 6°C and sunny but hazy as well. poke

Reached a top of 16.7°C here in Belgrave today. A cool, mostly sunny day, although hazy with light winds. smile

Only other thing worth mentioning was a bit of fog I encountered in Rowville on my way to Dandenong this morning. smile

Overcast night made this morning feel "warm" here! - depite 6.4C min. A bit of sun about in the morning, clouded over again in arvo with a couple of "drizzle tries" - I recorded 16.8C.

Went to Paynesville for lunch, dead calm, mild and overcast down there.

Reckon we mentioned calm settled weather going into June P, certainly been that way so far and into next week.

Calm and mostly sunny here today, no frosts lately.

Here's a summarised version of my daily weather observations from my residence here in Belgrave between Tuesday June 13th and Thursday June 22nd 2017. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back on track, I've been very busy lately, but I'll start posting on a daily basis again from now on haha. smile

Tuesday June 13th
Min: 9.6°C Max: 16.7°C Rain: 0mm

Wednesday June 14th
Min: 5.2°C Max: 18.0°C Rain: 0mm

Thursday June 15th
Min: 9.9°C Max: 19.4°C Rain: 0mm

Friday June 16th
Min: 7.0°C Max: 20.0°C Rain: 0mm

Saturday June 17th
Min: 7.1°C Max: 18.6°C Rain: 0mm

Sunday June 18th
Min: 7.4°C Max: 19.2°C Rain: 0mm

Monday June 19th
Min: 6.8°C Max: 16.5°C Rain: 0mm

Tuesday June 20th
Min: 6.5°C Max: 16.8°C Rain: 0mm

Wednesday June 21st
Min: 9.5°C Max: 13.0°C Rain: 2.1mm

Thursday June 22nd
Min: 6.1°C Max: 15.2°C Rain: 0mm

Based on these stats, true winter didn't really kick into gear until once we reached the Winter Solstice! The relatively mild conditions beforehand were greatly appreciated (when I wasn't stuck inside at work), but it came at the cost of very low rainfall. frown
