I'd also be watching this approaching band from the NW, I expect it will intensify as it approaches with a few bolts not out the question..

Certainly a lot of instability around, mainly south and west of us currently, but will spread east tonight...

on facebook, reports of tornado forming about 5pm

Cant believe it...! Was at the intersection of bridge rd / montague rd looking south when i spotted this classic funnel cloud forming, tried to get few shots with my phone through front windscreen while stuck in traffic. Funnel was smooth with a classic s shape. Did anyone else see it, around 5 pm this evening...

Nice little cloud before the main front dropped some hail. Short and sweet but woke me.

Saw the tops of a cauliflower being illuminated far, far to my south on my way home yesterday from Kilburn. Only saw it once though.

Another 3.4mm to 7am this morning brings the weeks total to 18.4mm.

Funnily enough was directly under the second cell and caught the edge of another moments before it, happen to be staying at a mates just NE of the city. The first hail shower didn't last long but the second belted down with hail and rain for a solid couple of minutes I reckon. Was early as though so didn't bother getting up for a look, but it was very loud!

Total for me here in Gulfview Heights.

Jul 3: 5.4 mm
Jul 4: 7.8 mm
Jul 5: 4.2 mm
Jul 6: 0.4 mm
Jul 7: 9.0 mm

Total: 26.8 mm

That lot is a big improvement over June alone.
