What sort of call is 0-20mm?

An each way bet perhaps?? Either nothing or something. lol.

In saying that, the BOM have up to 109 mm's forecast for Thredbo TS over the next 7 days, all at temps at or below zero.
2nd week of the school holidays looking ripe.

LOL I don't think i've seen a 0-20mm call ever before ...i've seen 0-5mm...its a HUGE variance.
Yeah those totals are immense. We arrive thursday for 10 days. Timing looks pretty good.

I'm going for somewhere in between. Somewhere between 50-60 cm's. Little bit lower on the lower slopes and drifts over a metre in other parts.
Certainly the kick start the season needed.......finally!!
Have fun!! You've timed it well.

At least it means there's more chance of getting the forecast right. It's like saying the temperature today will be between 10 and 20C. poke

I will second Homer's prediction of around 50cm or a bit more as I said this morning in the other thread.

Miserable old day today in the gong.

light rain at times, inky cloud ...and bloody freezing in our big tin shed.

I've transferred to the other thread as I think it's more appropriate. These are all comments and observations for the current system.

Yep we scraped under 11 but we were warmish yesterday.
We were seeing if Penrith was to scrape under 11 as a it would be a new record, but the temp at about 4pm got a little higher anyway so the 9am reading wouldn't have mattered. smile

Nudging near 22c here now, meanwhile just up the road Taree is nearly nudging 24c.

School holidays and the waterways are fairly active with people swimming, surfing, boating and fishing. Good to see parents and their kids out and about enjoying this stunning weather!!

Should rename this forum warm weather zone. Bout all you hear in the NSW section is how wonderful it is to have unseasonal winter warmth all the time. And the same people buy into the 'we all gonna fry' meme. Weird

Re today's max, for Sydney it is close to the top end of what is normal for July, in fact OH's 21.8 was spot on the average monthly maximum for July (1960-1990). The 90th percentile (once in 10 years) is 23.4, but I note that this has been exceeded in 5 of the 10 Julys 2007-16.

What do you mean by the average monthly maximum?

Is that the highest temperature that usually occurs in July?

That's what I meant, the averege highest temperature reached in the month. It is a bit confusing. Sydney's mean July daily maximum is 17.1 (1961-90), mean July monthly maximum is 21.8.

Then you've got the average coldest maximum, 13.0 in July for Sydney OH 1961-90. Lower maxima than that were experienced in 3 of the last 10 Julys.
