Hey WR - Colder than me AGAIN!!!

6.5 here overnight vs your 3.4 - STOP IT!!! grin

Lovely photo (again Eddy)

Funny windy partly cloudy day out here, currently a bit over 13 but wind chill is a bit fresher.

Yep Homer - I keep an eye on those threads too. I actually joined there before WZ and I've been in here since about 2001 smile

I observe a very distinctive shower to my east - approaching the Yetholme/Sunny corner area that is extremely white until about half way down.

Probably fits in nicely with Davidm's post re the hail shower at Orange smile

Are those showers just off the coast of Sydney real?

Managed to crack 20c here, not a single cloud to seen all day.

It's a bit cloudy now after a mostly clear day, got to 20-21 at most Sydney stations.

You can see showers from the Sydney Harbour webcam, so they're real.

Fairly windy on the coast.

Extended GFS hinting at a decent warm up through the western and tropical inland (fair bit of orange/red appearing there), and has been for the past few runs. Perhaps this is our road to the warm-up (won't get excited too early though)

Beautiful CGs, saw an incredible clear Air bolt that would have jumped 10km from the storm.

Heading for 20C again today, which would be 3 days in a row of 20+.
Certainly not complaining about that for early July (sometimes do get a final burst of mild weather, some places have their July high records early in the month), before the return of more wintry weather and mid teens by the weekend.

Well hit me with a feather. It didnt reach 19 or 20 today. Was still above average though. The climax of winter next week maybe. And the slow climb to the heat summits you heat lovers relish.

Sydney Airport seems to have been a degree warmer than everywhere else. At 9.1 - 19.5, anomalies +1.9 to +2.4. Most of Sydney was closer to average, with a few cold minima inland, e.g. Bankstown 3.3 to 17.8 (-1.9 to +0.5).

Temperatures are dropping like a stone under clear skies and little wind, Olympic Park dropped 5 degrees between 4:00PM and 5:20PM. Even OH is dropping fast.

========

The slow climb to Summer: statistically, the coolest part of Winter in Sydney is around July 8-10. In about 4 weeks, days will be noticeably longer, maybe 4-6 weeks to the first 25, 10-12 weeks to footy finals / daylight saving / first 30. On the other hand, we might get a cool, wet Spring.

Now why would Sydney airport be a real outlier in Sydney basin. hmmm.

Its possible a 25 this month after next weeks dip (if that happens). Rare for July (twice at Obs Hill in Sydney if memory serves me correctly) It wasnt that far off 25 in parts of Sydney the other day. 23 at the airport.

They certainly did.

I'm back to those really cold weekend temps.
Another frost again tomorrow.

Currently -3 in Cooma with the radar showing sustained showers over the town. No precip recorded yet in the AWS
Surely it must be snowing?
And yep, a nice little frost here this morning.
