Next Sunday, according to GFS, looks interesting for another snow event. Fast moving blob of cold air plus moisture. Worth watching.

Will wait a few more days before starting a thread, but EC is looking good - could even see a few cm's at Robbo with this outbreak. Still a week away tho.

That does look decent, and the Snowies should get heaps of snow out of that too. Is that next Wednesday?

That's a 10-day accumulation but Tuesday PM & overnight appears the main day at this stage. 10cm on the Oberon plateau is a decent dump!

A model run for the ages. Tuesday 5th September 7am. I don't think I have ever seen GFS display -7 at 850mb in NSW. Will probably vanish in the next run but wow I am gobsmacked.

Sorry about large image, can't work out how to change the size on Imgur.

Image size is just fine WR. I can see it without putting my reading glasses on!!
There's certainly something decent on the cards.
It's a long way out but almost all the models I've seen are pointing towards something juicy. Appears to be a bit of moisture too.

Indeed Homer, could be some interesting times ahead. If won't end up being as cold as what's shown of course but even if a few degrees were shaved off that would be a great event.

Definitely lining up now for another decent cold outbreak early next week, with all models throwing ridiculously cold air over SE NSW, sadly with not much moisture. The prospect of snow is there depending on whether we can get more southerly airstream than sw'erly. But it'll be bitter cold right up til Mid North Coast if models come off.

Latest EC is trying to keep the strongest westerlies further south around VIC/TAS. If yesterdays run comes true NSW will be in the thick of it too. After that both EC and GFS hinting at a decent warm up with a developing WA heat trough, that's when I start celebrating grin

GFS looking good for a strong cold change overnight Tuesday / Wednesday next week, with the blue line and 850 zero isotherm approaching the Qld border and briefly -4 @850 over the Central Tablelands. Moisture could be better but there is some.

Meanwhile, EC and ACCESS seem to be expecting a fairly routine change.

The Victorians have started a thread. Might be a bit premature here until the models line up better.

That looks juicy!! But extended GFS is known to throw up these type of scenarios this far out. Would like to see it come off though.
