Not snow, unfortunately, but ponds are freezing overnight here at Black Mountain and that means the ground temperatures are falling. So when the snow finally arrives, it will lie on the ground sufficiently long to make a snow chase worthwhile for those further away from Guyra.

EC ensemble still suggesting 10 to 30% probabilities of snowfall around the midweek period.

It would appear that the BOM are forecasting potential snow at Guyra on Wednesday........Hmm. Wonder how this first opportunity for this winter will turn out!!

There's something, although I don't think it'll be anything noteworthy. It has been picked up on the snow forecast model, however.

Also paulcirrus, to link your pics here, copy that BBCode in. You don't need to add the [img] to the start and end of it.
BBCode:

Hope I could help!

Thanks snowy, will do. I don't think it will be worth the trip this Wednesday else my other mate would have heard from me by now.
I think Guyra will definitely get at a least "a" snow shower this Wednesday but nothing settling. So I'll bypass this one, dam it.:(

Finding it very hard to decide whether to take the morning off work and travel to Guyra from Armidale for the predicted flurry.
The models are so iffy.

Anyone think it'll be worth it?

Forecast only for some flurrys in Guyra if you're lucky.I don't think there'll be much moisture for anything else.I personally wouldn't bother going down.

I didn't end up going up - just doesn't feel cold enough and windy as hell. Pity though - it looked like the best chance of the year thus far.

Interesting here in Glen. On and off sleet all morning, becoming sago snow this arvo. Raining sago snow as we speak. slowly turning into normal rain.

Yeah same here; we've had showers of sleet, sago snow, and rain on and off all day in Armidale.

Reports of Snow settling at Hanging Rock. I would imagine Topdale Rd and Thunderbolts Way (1300m+) would have got a bit as well.

After all that, there were reports of a flurry around guyra/ben lomond area at around 2-3pm. But not worth the drive.

Love your name. I recall when it was a snowy train north. Pity the same trip can't be made these days. It was a classic rail journey made even better when it snowed.

Met eye showing 1 hour of snow fall this Saturday. Maybe too little for a trip. But things can change either way.
At the moment i wouldn't go for that amount.

A little sleet and sago snow at Black Mountain this morning. Temperature currently 5.3 degC. Maybe that's it for this year.
