"Slight" being the operative word there.
I'd rate it as around a 20% chance, with an 80% chance of nothing happening.

Definitely different feel to the weather today. Though clouds seem to show some sign of up lift

Yep I can see some of the build-ups from here. Will be a question of whether or not the peak in diurnal heating will be enough to make these build-ups produce lightning before most of the cold air upstairs exits the region.

The rainfall amounts in the 24hrs to 9am today presents an interesting picture with the majority of locations in the Greater Brisbane area getting 15mm or less, but if you were lucky enough to be within a small narrow zone covering some of the SE suburbs (e.g. me), you may have gotten a bit more (25 to 30mm):

Appears we got lucky with 28mm.
RWM only got 3mm
Hope the winter storms are a sign of a good spring storm season

18.4mm here, July total now 44mm. Have had more storms than frosts this winter, everything is green and growing, days are warm, you'd think it was October if you didn't know any better. Absolute madness, makes me wonder what the rest of the year will bring.... crazy

I agree with that assessment Ken, nothing for us last night here in Strathpine, looking at the radar it seemed to just avoid north Brisbane.

It made up for it this morning though with moderate showers from a blob of rain that passed through, recorded 4.6mm here as it passed.

Some pretty interesting weather this week over large parts of SE Australia, some of which should affect our region as well.

As well as the chance of snow around places like Guyra and the highest mountains of the NSW northern tablelands around midweek, they'll also become reasonably widespread on the highlands in SE Australia in general (and maybe to low levels in TAS).

Some of the more sheltered areas in our region could get thick overnight/morning fog before clearing by Wednesday.

Then there's the temps - getting much warmer than normal again in our region, peaking on Tuesday (daytimes may well reach into the warmest 10% of July max temps away from coastal fringe).....before a cold front ushers in colder air midweek....but then rebounding to warmer than normal again in about a week's time.

Also still looks winds could get gusty by midweek in our region in the SW'lies behind the front with the chance of stronger wind gusts in mountain and exposed areas.

And just the slight chance of thunder for some places in our region later on Tuesday just ahead of the front.

But the overall drier than normal regime still looks like continuing through the next few weeks.

6.5mm here on Sat. and Sun morning. Waiting for a nice cold burst by Wed. Overall, this winter has been drier and warmer than us usual, but only slightly.

Sorry to harp on about this, bit I had a quick glance throughout this whole Forum from every section, topic etc and there are so many threads with the dreaded $399.00 ransom. All pictures from those who posted using Photobucket now look like this. That is 14 years of photos gone from this forum. It was free, it was quick and it was good when I started using it many, many years ago, then it bloated and became slow and it became an advertising billboard.

The big question is, will Imgur, Flickr etc follow the same protocol? If so the forum will become empty of pictorial proof of weather events. Is there any other solutions to any of the Moderators out there. I know there is a lot of data to be stored to support the uploads on WZ. If the trend continues then the next question is will the forum survive? I switched to Imgur, but how long will this survive.

As I said previously this changes the forum in so many ways. Photobucket was free for 14 years then in June they pulled this stunt.

Amazon and eBay images broken by Photobucket's 'ransom demand ...

https://www.theverge.com/2017/7/4/15919224/photobucket-broken-images-amazon-ebay-etsy-paid-update

Photobucket accused of blackmail after quietly requiring users to pay $400 a year to hotlink.
Thousands of listings from online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay are now filled with unsightly error images by Photobucket after the photo hosting site quietly introduced a $399 annual fee to users who want to embed images on third party websites. Users are now accusing Photobucket of extortion, as the service failed to make the update to its terms of service abundantly clear.
"Users are accusing Photobucket of extortion"

It all began last week when Photobucket announced in a short blog post that it had updated its terms of service that had begun taking effect from June 20th. Nowhere in the blog post did Photobucket highlight the most important change, which was that it will now cost uploaders $400 a year to insert their photos on another website using direct image links.

I hope photobucket goes broke!!
Imo there will always be a way of showing photos whether its through social media sites such as FB & Instagram or new hosting sites are created.

Its a shame it has come to this though!!

It was a very warm & sunny day here today, shorts & singlet weather while gardening, fantastic. Sorry for the off topic, I am not a lawyer, but this bullcrap stunt photbucket pulled, there must be terms & conditions people agreed to use it at the time, so, copyright, who holds the rights before they asked for money? Extortion in my book of fair trade!
Photobucket needs to return all photos to the rightfull owners prior to change of T& C's IMO.
Hanging out for a bit of a storm tomorrow arvo, lovely greenish atm.

It's happened before with other free image hosts last decade. Older images on net became unviewable, often in the older parts of this forum the images are dead because the host doesn't exist anymore or the person may have deleted their photohosting account. More recently, Imageshack became user-pay a few years ago, and images by those who didn't pay eventually became unviewable elsewhere on the net (after about 12-18 months if I recall correctly).
It's unfortunate about the change with Photobucket (and quite awful of them to spring something so sudden and drastic on their users). There are many other forums, blogs and even websites that this will affect to varying degrees. For those users it affects on here, the words written / descriptions of the weather still exist though and that's the most important thing. There's a heap of awesome weather information written in here from enthusiasts since January 2001, whether it be severe weather or storm outbreaks (which are often covered in a comprehensive manner in populated areas), heatwaves, snow events, and even just about the day to day weather, observations (amateur or BOM obs), technical discussion etc.

You may never know what could happen in future, and I guess you have to put a bit of faith in whatever free photohosting website you're using, e.g. Flickr, Imgur or other hosts. It's a bit of a gamble I suppose on the web for photohosting, especially if you're not paying a subscription fee.
Another option could be Tumblr (https://www.tumblr.com). You could open up a blog page there (e.g. http://kellydelay.tumblr.com) and host the images on that page and either post the link or image here.

If there are Photobucket images (or images from other formerly free image hosts) that are now broken which you'd really like to replace (e.g. pics from notable storms / storm outbreaks, ECLs, etc.) in the SEQLD/NENSW or NSW sections, I'm happy to do so, just send me a Private Message with the new picture link(s) and the link to the post(s) you want it replaced in.

~~~
Sunny and pleasantly mild today. Tomorrow, that bit warmer with 24 expected for much of the northern MNC.
Edit: Haha nice work Ken.
Hey Ken do I get the feeling you are rather happy about Wednesday's forecast. cool wink
Thanks Seabreeze for your input, I thought about the implications that would be involved in trying to restore photo's. 2 Main problems is that 1. it would fall into the hands of the Mods as we can't edit after the expired time and that is a lot of work for all involved and 2nd, trying to remember the actual photo that was posted is a bit of a problem as there were so many. But as you say the actual threads are still there. Thanks for all your hard work too.
With the flu season starting to ramp up, it is a bit of a worry with the constant heating and cooling from day to day, I am expecting a pretty bad flu to hit Brisbane around or just after the Brisbane Ekka.
And now weatherzone are doing a news.com except worse. Go to the maps and everytime you exit a map to go to the next one the whole page refreshes with a new add that now covers the whole border area of the web site. Clicking on the wrong map becomes a reality unless you wait for the page to stop loading the adds. Man that frustrating. Easier to just charge people to use the site and get rid of the adds.
Quite a bit of fog about this morning as predicted, visibility at Salisbury and Rocklea was down to about 20 metres in places as I drove to work, but was better the closer I got to the city and Newmarket, though still consistent with being everywhere.
